My flight is not scheduled to land until 11:59pm on Friday. I anticipate a slightly earlier arrival since they almost always over exaggerate the time from NYC to MCO, but regardless, it will still be late.

I’m curious if anyone has gotten their room number by text and/or seen the number on MDE with a late arrival and then had it changed on them before they get there. I could understand if a pipe exploded in the room or something mechanical happened (which I suspect is what they would say anyway), but I’m curious if they would assign the room to someone who complained about theirs and wanted to be moved for a non-mechanical reason? Or if once the text goes out and/or it shows up on MDE you can be sure that is your room?

Does that make sense? Like, if I see a room number assigned on MDE and/or get a text with it earlier in the day, can I be sure that barring some mechanical reason the room has to be taken out of service that THAT will be my room? Or is there the possibility that I would get an “Oops! Our bad! Here is your room?” text and/or see it change.

I was told it can change for any reason until you actually enter the room. We have had ours changed. When I asked why, I was told because they had to move some people around. So who really knows but my view was definitely downgraded from my original room view even tho they were the same category.

I can't answer your question about a room number change, but will share our recent experience with you. We arrived at Beach Club last week around 1am. We checked in and found that we had been upgraded from the cheapest standard view category to Club Level! I have no idea how that happened, but it's proof that late arrivals don't have to mean you'll get a bad room.

Besides, if you don't like your room assignment, you can always ask for a change (even if there's no availability that night, they can swap you the next day).

We arrived at 945p a few weeks ago. Literally got the text with my room number as soon as I scanned my band to get on the Magical Express.

I fly cross country and lately when I take my phone off airplane mode my room ready text is usually waiting for me. Last Dec. I had 3 room ready texts waiting. The first was at AKV Kidani (I had Jambo booked) the second was at Jambo - but on a lower floor in a regular room (I had a 1 br. villa booked,) the 3rd was in the correct place and the right view and size villa - I don’t know what triggered that cascade of changes other than something messed up somewhere but by the time I got there they had it sorted.

You won't have anything to worry about. We traveled late on Christmas day for the past 3 years to WDW. I have gotten the room ready text in the morning while I was still home opening presents with the family. Arrived at the resort well after midnight without any problems. Just be sure to take your luggage with you or you won't get it until the next day.

A few years ago we arrived at Riverside around 8pm. When we were on the Magerical Express I received 3 different texts with different rooms. My first text was the room we had wanted beautiful pool view. The last 2 text were the last building in Bayou with a terrible views. We were told the resort was 99% booked so nothing they could do. Not more late arrivals for us!

I'm a carry-on only girl anyway. :)
