Question about the Queue lines

I have not been to WDW in several years and with the new FP+ system being limited I am really scared now about the possibility of having panic attacks while in the queue. Before I just rode what I could get a fp for or rides with wait times under 15 mins to avoid even the possibility of a panic attack but now with the new FP+ system it seems I will be very limited to what attractions will be possible if there is no easy way out of a queue line before I pass out. Do all (or most) attractions have an easy exit out of queue if something happens while waiting in the queue? Is exiting easy or should I just stick with the 3 possible FP attractions and attractions with shorter wait times?

You can get more fp after you use the first 3 so you may want to do the big ones first then get another and so on

There is really no easy way out of a queue if you aren't very close to the entrance or the boarding area.

You are not limited to only 3 FPs per day. Once you have used your 3 prebooked FPs you can get more, one at a time. There are usually some attractions, such as the shows, that don't usually have a long queue. You might also look at the time of year you visit, and try to go during less crowded weeks. And select the most recommended park each day. The crowd calendars will help with that.

You MIGHT be eligible for a DAS card. You can read the sticky at the top of the forum page. Note that this is only usable at attractions that have FP.

Thank you! I will get the 3 pre-booked FPs and see what I can get as FP after those. We may just do 2 Disney days at MK and skip the parks with the tiered FPs. MK has a greater number of rides available for FP so it seems it might be easier using the new system and getting an additional FP one at a time there. I actually can see that the new FP system should work well for us and everyone else but the tiered parks would be more difficult to ride the things I would like to such as both test track and soarin.

you can do both soaring and test track I would get a FP for one of them ( I think soaring has some interactive things) get one for about an hour after the park opens then get there right at opining go to the one that you do not have the fast pass for and do that one first. maybe do a ride in their 2 about 45 minutes after the park ones do your tier 1 then your other tier 2 ride you can then decied if you would like to stay there or go to MK and see what they have for FP

I have to disagree. Most lines are fairly easy to leave--you just walk out the way you walked in, saying Excuse Me the whole way. I'm a bit claustrophobic too, so I tend to scope out how I would get out of any queue if I suddenly feel the need to leave. Walking out is easy. Also, many lines have queue chains that you can undo in order to help you escape. And if you are near the front you can ask the CM running the attraction to point you the way out. Twice now I've been in line and the ride has broken down for a while, and I've left the line.

this is true I use the DAS card and even with it there are times I have to leave I was in line for test track when it went down I asked a CM who let me out a back door. if you really need to get out of line then you can do so just go the way you came in and say excuse me or ask a CM who will be more then happy to help you

you asked about inter active lines or something going on disney is big on theaming and I think most of the lines do space monition has a video game that you play ( I have never seen this even though I go on a lot ) 7 DMT has some things to do ( I have only seen the youtube of it) pepefer pan flight has things to look at ( agin I have only seen you tube ) test track you build your own car ( I think this is toward the end of the line) soaring I have heard has have some eneractive things agin I have not done it so I do not know.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. Leaving the way you came in is certainly possible. Sidestepping past everybody behind you, trying not to bump into people or trip over little kids, with a continuous string of "excuse me, pardon me, can I please get by, sorry,". Doesn't spell easy to me. And leaving by the boarding area if you aren't already up there? Every one you try to get past ( see above) is going to think you're line jumping, so add nasty looks. Again, not what I call easy. Ducking under the chains isn't always easy when the queues are narrow and already jammed full of people. But yes, its possible.

IMO, you're better off knowing your limits, checking the wait time and even asking the entrance CM as to its accuracy, before getting into the queue.

Note I didn't say ducking under chains. They all come undone very simply, and you just re-hook them behind you.

I think it is important for people to know that once you are in line, you are not trapped in that line. If you need to leave (which can be because of any number of reasons--someone feeling ill, a sudden need for the bathroom,--it can be done with very little muss or fuss. My trip in May I was in line for the Little Mermaid ride, and once we were in the cave portion, the lines stopped moving for 20 minutes. If you have ever been stuck in that part of the line you know how loud it is. I started to get a headache and to feel a bit shaky, so my travel buddy and I left the line. It was easy, and we were not the only ones to leave.

OP--If you have to leave the line, don't worry about it. It isn't a big deal. And it is one of those things that if people give me the stink eye over it, so what? As long as I am not stepping on them or shoving them out of my way, it is their problem. You do what you have to do. If you feel you need to leave the line, then leave.

I have had to leave test track it broke down right before we went in to the room where you build your own car. I have been in few lines where other guess had to leave and no one was rude to them at all one time a little one needed to use the bathroom the guess bend then ask if she would like her to hold her spot in line ( it was the mom and daughter, or that is my guess)

I think it is easy to leave a line to go to the restroom, no you aren't trapped.

But if I was having a panic attack, having to "excuse me" all the way back to the entrance would not be a pretty thing. I would feel trapped.

It seems like it would be reasonable for the OP to ask for a DAS, and wait outside the line. Already they have said FP lines are generally okay.

When I asked about the queue lines I think I was hoping that most queues might be set up with FP queue adjacent to the SB queue and possibly could get out by going back out through the FP entrance. When I had the problem with breathing and panic attack a couple of years ago I am pretty sure they took me out in a wheelchair out through the FP line. Any rides set up now with the adjacent lines? It would be very hard to back out through a tight line while in a panic state!
We have really only done Universal since then, except for one trip for MNSSHP, and we get the unlimited fast pass at universal. Even then I watch the FP line for awhile to see how it is moving and wait until it looks like moving good and wait will be under 10-15 min!

There are some lines that have the fast pass next to it space motion comes to mind but most do not I would pick your top 3 rides and do fast pass for them starting about an hour to an hour and a half the first ride do one of the head line rides that you do not have a fast pass for then fill in your time with shorter wait rides until your fast pass after you use your 3 fast passes you can get another I would see how you do and if you are having problems go to GR and talk to them

Oops I am on my phone and ment to put the only line that I can think of that has the line next to the fast pass is space mountain there may be others that I am not thinking of

We're at the World right now, and I've noticed that both the standby and FP+ queues are tricky to get out of - neither one more easy than the other. The FP+ queues are usually up against solid walls, etc. Also, we've been having to wait quite a bit in/before the FP+ queues - people are either blocking the way in, not understanding what they are supposed to do, or dilly-dallying in the FP+ queue line. None have been walk right on, most have been about 15 minutes from getting in line (sometimes way before the queue) to getting on the ride vehicle. My anxiety hasn't kicked into high gear yet, but we are taking lots of breaks each day.

Are you touring by yourself?

If you have another person with you, it might make it easier to get out of the queue - they can do all the "Excuse me"ing for you and clear the way for you to get out behind them.
