What all does this "package" that the Disney Visa thing is offering include?

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Also, how hard is it to get the card? I'm a student, and I have gotten about 3 or 4 mailings about the card since it came out. I have no income, so I think it's funny that they always say "You're Pre-Selected!"

TIA!

it is for a select group of people visa is targeting, you have
to recieve a mailing with the offer on it. There is no other way
to get it.

Just my $.02 on this issue:

I rec'd the Visa deal about a week (maybe less) after this discussion came about here on the boards. I guess they mail out the offers to different parts of the country different days?

Anyway, when I called Bankone they were VERY adamant about having the code, getting my name and address, making sure I was really eligible for the offer.

Same scenario when I called WDW. VERY adamant about having the code needed for the discount.

I would just like to add again that according to mousesavers historical release of codes it seems very likely that they will extend this offer to the general public. This "special promotion" has to be booked by April 30th, so I would guess something for the general public will come out around then.

Again, just my $.02

I got the mailing, but had just thrown it to the side. I get the Disney Visa mailing about once every other month. Then when I read that it was only offered to a few people, I went and opened it up. Sure enough, I had the "golden ticket." I just didn't know what all it included if I did decide to mail off for the card and book.

I posted a few times about this the other day but here it goes: I did not get mailing like others, but after hearing about it on the boards I called. After checking the last four numbers of my Disney Visa, they said I was eligible. So the mailing is not the only factor. I already have ressies for Easter week Weds. thru Weds. and was looking to see if current offer was better. The ressie I have now is a combination of a few things incorporating the Disney Visa (kids stay and play free, dreamaker pkg. with Prince and Princess add-on) . That pkg cost $2425.00 which includes $200.00 Disney dollars at check-in. Based on the price they gave me for a week starting 5/1 and subtracting the Prince and Princess add-on and adjusting the price for my CBR prefered categoy, the new deal is between $500.00 to $600.00 less expensive. So it is definitely a good deal if your looking for pkg. Current promo does not begin until 5/1

To the Original Poster:

The package includes hotel accomodations and theme park admissions. You will get 7 days for the price of 4.

It's for new cardholders between that apply and are approved between Feb 5th and March 31st.

CBRorBust,

After reading a long discussion about this topic afew days ago, I received the application in the mail. You are right about the fact that the ad doesn't provide a lot of information! Here's my take on it. (I'd love it if some of the more knowledgable folks here could let me know if I have it straight.)

Basically, mine said that you get a 7 night Dreammaker Package for the price of 4. (This is basically room plus UPH tickets.) Plus you get $100 Disney Dollars. How much you save depends on when you go and what type of room you book.

For grins, I went to www.disneyworld.com and put in 10/21/04 to 10/28/04 dreammaker at a deluxe resort for my family of 4. It came back with AKL, savannah view or concierge pool for $5,117.40. When I resubmitted it for 4 nights it came out to be $3,135.40. So, this deal would save me about $2,000. I also did it for POR water view room ($2,611.40 & $1,705.40). A difference of about $900.

Ok, for me, this is where it gets complicated. Do you really want, or need a UPH? That is, UPH's are length of stay. If you are arriving late in the day and leaving early, you only may need tickets for 6 days. Also, in my case, we wouldn't want to go to the water parks. So, we only need Park Hoppers. Another thing to think about is APs. The difference between a standard AP and a 7 night UPH is about $20. AP's bring in other discounts. Confused yet? I sure am! :jester:

I'd recommend looking into your own situation. How many people will you be paying for? How many park days do you need? Will you be going to major parks only? Or, will you want to go to DQ, water parks, etc... too? What are you willing to consider acceptable in a hotel? What is your dream hotel?

I my case, paying for the four of us, I think the savings may not be too great. (Since we really only need PHs.) However, in your situation it could be wonderful. I hope I helped you think this through. (And didn't just confuse the issue more! lol) Anyone, out there see something I'm missing?

I did receive this offer and under the Terms & Conditions is states The minimum gross annual income required for an account is $14,400.

EEyorlover22,

Not only for new cardholders or those about to be new cardholders. I've had my Disney Visa for about a year and I, like stated above was eligible.

Thanks so much guys for all the replies! I called, and got some quotes for me and my boyfriend. This is a very good deal indeed! I think that we would add "plus silver" if we are allowed to add it on there because it would be a GREAT deal for us!

I know that I will get a big...NO as soon as I post this...:p ....but I have to ask. Now on my application it states: "Gross Annual HOUSEHOLD Income." :teeth:

Now, my household's income is a lot bigger than MY Annual Income which is a big Zero! Can I put my HOUSEHOLD's annual income since, that is what they asked for...:hyper:

So one more question. You did not have to get the mailing in order for this offer to be extended to you? Correct? My boyfriend makes well above the 14k Annual Income, and he could get the card if that is what it meant? ALSO my parents really wanted to do this promo for their trip and they are not cardholders either. So am I correct to assume that it is ANY non-cardholder that is approved for a card?

A person on another board was given the Visa Deal and was not a new card holder, but they have since cancelled his reservation. As I recall, they had the card for nearly a year as well.

I used my household income and not my own personal. Our combined is higher than my teaching salary. They asked for household over the phone so that's what I gave.

ThwTwinsMom:
I think the travel dates are May 1st through Oct 1st.

I didn't get the flyer and I was approved and I am eligible for the 7 for 4 deal. In fact, I didn't get anything at all in the mail. I called last Sunday to Bank One and asked if there was anything they could do. They told me to apply for a second card. I believe your boyfriend could apply and then he could book the room. The deposit has to be put on with the new card once you receive it in the mail.

For those who didn't get the mailing but were able to book the package, please check your ressies. This was posted on another message board:
Disney Visa Promotion Problem

It seems that Disney went back thru all the reservations and cancelled those that were not on Bank One's "list". And they never notified the customers of the cancellation. Not a very nice thing for them to have done.

I remember that a similar thing happened back in the fall of 2002 when a promotional code was placed on the internet for Disneystore.com. The code was meant for people who had made previous purchases and it was a one-time-use code. There was a glitch in the the system and ANYONE could use the code, multiple times. Disneystore.com quietly cancelled those orders that did not qualify and that was all there was to it.

So, if you have a ressie using that code, check to make sure that it still exists. Better safe than sorry.

EEyorelover22,

I'm looking at the ad now. Mine says it is "available most nights bewteen May 1 and October 31, 2004."

CBRorBust,

I'd have your boyfriend call and ask. I read a post here a few days ago where someone tried to apply for the Disney Visa to get the offer and they wouldn't let him/her. It seems kind of silly for them not to extend this offer to any new cardholder. I mean, what's the purpose of doing it in the first place! lol Anyway, just have him call and check. Enjoy your trip!

I received an envelope today from Disney Visa. On the outside it said "It's All Magic--and All Yours! See Inside for Enchanting Disney Fun!". The only problem was that the sealed envelope was empty. Please tell me that this wasn't something good that I was finally supposed to receive!

Disneystore.com quietly cancelled those orders that did not qualify and that was all there was to it.

They did cancel the orders, but it was far from quiet. There was a huge uproar and Disneystore.com responded publicly on several news forums. Also, from my own experience and what I read at the time, everyone got email notices that were affected.

What they did in the end was to make those who had actually received the offer send in the postcard itself. This left a lot of customers who were actually entitled to the discount out in the cold because in the beginning that wasn't a requirement and many threw theirs away after placing their orders.

A perfect example of those who did nothing wrong paying the price for those who abused the system.

I can't remember exactly when those gift cards were earned, but it was in the summer months and then they could be used later in November. Here's another problem with that entire process and the rules/information changed from when it started and were changing continuously through the entire process.

Individuals that were in the Premier Best Guest program were able to earn more than one "gift card". If it had been a real gift card there would have never been a problem. During the first days of the promotion we could earn as many as the dollar amount allowed. I cannot remember at this point what that was. It was limited to one for other guests. I earned a couple on my first order. Then, they said, no, that wasn't suppose to happen a few days into the promo. But, they never changed their computer system and I placed other orders and there were more paper gift cards. I knew there was going to be a problem as they all had the same code. Then they went back and said we could use all that we earned...not just one. So, then they said we could use mulitple cards on one order and they would verify how many we had. Then they said, no, they had to be different orders. In November is was changing again all the time. I took mine to the store. It wasn't worth the hassle. I did place an order with one card and it was held till they verified that I had in fact earned it. Did I order more to get the "free" $$ off...you bet. That's why the program is in place to get me to spend more! I was glad I used my cards on the first day because then after my CM told me to go to the store and use them, a day into the date to redeem, they said they could only take one per guest. I am sure there were ways to cheat that deal too. I had already used mine though.

Anyway...I guess my point is this. I think that Disney for several days didn't know what was going on. I know that they "shouldn't have to train their CMs for people trying to cheat the system". However, there always seems to be confusion at CRO/WDTC. This happened with the POFQ closing. It took them days to get everyone up to speed and there were answers that I was given there were just wrong. I called multiple times in one day. I finally found someone that seemed to really know what she was doing. I requested her from then on with the "relocation team". I have had other experiences where I know the answers are wrong. Like...my ap pass expires on June 15th...didn't know there was a date on the back when I called. The CM on the phone told me it was only good through May 30th. Or for my last year's trip when they said all of us in the same room had to have UPH even if I had an annual pass. I called multiple times till I found someone who knew that you had to do it manually in the computer.

It was frustrating for some, myself included, to see reports of old cardholders booking the deal. I read on another board one person was booked as late as Wednesday. Some believed their cards were new if they were Oct on...etc. I called more than once that day until I got the same answer from the same person. Then I called Bank One and asked what I could do. "Apply for a new card."

I guess I am defending those individuals who did call and booked the deal because there was lots of mis information. I don't know if they knew what they were doing was wrong or not. I don't have ESP. One poster was told on Saturday that it was open to all and the CM gave them the code.

And, as far as I am concerned, I'm still not sure what's right and what's not. Was it only for those with the insert and then after the uproar they opened it to all new card holders? Don't know and they would never admit that. I believe originally Bank One said insert people in the mail and then it was those in Feb. Was I in the target group and that's why I am a new card holder that can book the package. Don't know. I am sure there are some people with reservations that are still being told they are "fine" when, in fact, they aren't because I would bet there are some CMs on the phones that don't know what's going on. It was well over a week before they all knew that POFQ was closing.

Think about the people you work with or know. How many of them don't know something for DAYS maybe WEEKS after they should have? How many come late and miss the updates. I bet CMs come late....

That is AWESOME news on the dates. A former student is getting married in mid October and would love to Honeymoon at WDW. She just got a job. I told her about it and she said the dates wouldn't work. I'll have to let her know.
Thanks! I don't have the paperwork like you do. I was going off what others posted.
