Question about the new app

This is probably a dumb question so I'll admit that going in

When I am playing podcasts from the new app - is it using data? I assume if the answer is yes, it's playing from my Wi-Fi when I am connected but I listen when I walk and I'd rather not use my data plan. In that case, I would still want to download from iTunes, right?

Thank you! I like the layout of the shows better in the app but I often listen on the go so I will still need to use iTunes to download them!

If you hit the more button on the bottom menu, show notes are one of the choices. But when I go to the notes for the individual shows, mine are truncated and I can't find an option to expand them.

I have a tech request into Amazon - I am not able to d/l the app onto my 1st generation Kindle Fire. I d/l'd to my Sony Xperia just fine, but the Kindle Fire just stops in its tracks, and tells me I can't d/l from the Amazon AppStore. And since the Fire is the one I usually keep @ work, and like to listen to the podcasts on my lunch @ work, I'll be very disappointed if this doesn't work. I know I can't use the new FIre TV on the 1st generation.

Actually - have to say I misspoke in my previous post when I said I ca't watch Kindle Fire Tv, on my 1st gen. Kindle Fire, I meant to say I can't listen to Amazon Prime music, which was just introduced (I'm a Prime member)l Found that out, and and was petty disappointed, since I use the Fire at my desk at work, and would like to try something besides Pandra and IHeart.
