Question about the new AP rate program

First, let me say that I am sorry if this has been asked and answered, but there is so much information about the new best rate program out there.

We went to WDW this June and I ended up buying an AP for myself to get a better room rate (Thanks to DIS!!!). Now we are planning to go again next June. From what I understand, you can only book the best rate program 120 days out, is this correct? Because what I am worried about, is that we want to go the first week of June and stay at the Contemporary in a Tower Room with the MK view, I know this is a popular option, so what happens if these are already booked by then?

I know that I am not guaranteed any special discount or rate because I bought an AP, I am not trying to get into that debate! I was just curious with all of the WDW vetereans here on DIS, whether there would even be any Tower Rooms with the MK view still available 120 days out or not?

Hi Jenna!

The new program is a bit of a change, but it's actually better for those who are sure of their plans.....

The Best Rate program is only bookable online and you can book your room, assuming they are offering that room class, 60 or more days before your arrival day.

What that means is that as soon as WDW opens up Best Rate availability, you can go ahead & book. There is a one night, nonrefundable deposit, but if you're really sure of your plans, then it shouldn't be a problem.

The BR discount for Deluxe resorts is running at around $70 off per night (which is the same as the last round of regular AP discounts). In all of the checking that I've done on Best Rates, it's pretty iffy that they'll even offer the tower rooms with a MK view at the discount. I've seen tower rooms & concierge tower, but have yet to see any MK tower rooms. (others here may have seen it offered, so if any of you havem please chime in)
