We are staying in a one bedroom at Saratoga Springs. I am so excited!!:goodvibes My questtion is, do they supply dishwasher soap or do I need bring some? Also, I am assuming we need to bring paper towels too. Anything else I need to bring??? Thanks!!

They supply both. And if you run short if either, you can call housekeeping and request more. The only things we bring with us are laundry detergent, did the Tide paks, bounce for the dryer, coffee and coffee filters. And of course, the food we wanted for the week. Other than that, everything else is there.

If I remember correctly, they give you a few packs of dishwasher cleaner. You get paper towels, but no napkins.

I bring napkins, paper plates and cups, less dishes. But we usually drive, so I pack non perishable foods and extra like the napkins, etc.pixiedust:

This time we are flying so I may have to pick up these things when we get there.

My brother in law last trip when we drove bought a case of wine!!

Thanks for answering!! :thumbsup2 We usually drive, but are flying this time. So I am using We Go Shop. I will some cute Disney plates and pack them in my suitcase. So excited to have a washer and dryer!!:cool1:

Hope you don't mind if I hijack the thread. Does anyone know what kind of coffee filters to bring? We'll be staying at SSR in just a few weeks for the first time and we're very excited :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Thank you!

The coffee makers are full size (12 cup) Mr Coffee brewers that take basket (flat bottom) filters. On the rare occasion, there might be a 4 cup brewer in the room (usually only happens in studios). If there is a 4 cup and you want a 12 cup, call housekeeping and they will bring a 12 cup.

Stitchbuddy...just a hint if you plan to do any cooking. We always order all of our fresh food from either Garden Grocer or WeGoShop also, however, many times I know I won't need a whole box of rice or a container of spices, etc. and I hate waste. So, I pre-measure any dry items, spices, etc. I will be needing to prepare meals into Ziploc bags and label the bags with any instructions, etc. These items all get packed in a box (usually between 10 & 15 lbs.....at a cost of about $12-$17) depends how many people we have that trip and how many meals I plan to cook!! I will also put some napkins, paper plates, detergent (double bagged)...sometimes toiletries (that are almost empty anyway...so I don't need to pack the remainder for the return trip)...anyway..you get the idea. I ship either FedEx or UPS (whichever I'm closer to the day I need to ship) usually about 4 or 5 days before our arrival, so my package will arrive either the day before or the day of our arrival. You can do a cost/arrival date estimate on both UPS and FedEx websites. I address it to myself w/check-in date, c/o whatever resort we are staying and at check-in I just ask the desk to have bell services bring it up to the room. Yes....it does cost me to send it.....but under $20 is less than it would cost to order full boxes or containers I will only be using a small amount of.

Another idea, depending on who's going with you, we pack a LOT of kitchen supplies in our luggage. It depends on the airline and baggage costs, but with Southwest and getting 2 checked bags per person + a carry-on and personal item, combined with the fact that we were bringing 2 kids, meant we packed everything that was not water, carbonated, or refrigerated.

Just watch your weight, it's surprising how much a bottle of wine or scotch will add to the suitcase weight.

Thanks for the additional ideas, I think I am going to add a couple things to my We Go Shop order. We never check our luggage so I was very careful about what I planned for meals. I think all I need to take is some taco seasoning. I am glad to here you all have had good experience with order food. I am a little nervous to be honest.

StichBuddy, we've used the Garden Grocer for our last 4 trips and have been very pleased every time. We have always gotten what we ordered, on time and well packed. A very pleasant experience every time.

Can I ask a question too? I don't want to step on toes... Is there a nice size frying pan/skillet? I've been watching youtube videos to see what's available but all I can see are pots/sauce pans.

Yes, there is a decent sized skillet there. I would guess it is about a 10 inch skillet.
