My 8 year old had the shot (he has asthma) and had no ill effects. My 5 and 2 year olds had the nasal spray - no ill effects either. HOWEVER, our family did end up getting H1N1 - at WDW - about 8 days after receiving the vaccines. They did not have serious cases, so maybe the shot helped boost their immunity a small bit and made their illness milder. We haven't gotten the second dose for any of them yet - even though the pediatrician recommended it - because there isn't any in our area to be found at the moment. Good luck to you - I'm sure everything will be fine.![]()
It takes longer than 8 days to build up the immunity.
Both of my granddaughters had the H1N1 shot about 2 weeks ago and had no reaction.

How did I miss this bit of info. If its true we're only 3 1/2 weeks post vaccine and no-where near ok yet. How on earth did I not get deathly ill? Mind you, I'd still get the vaccine, I would probably just have handled my DD's initial flare up with even more caution had I known she was still unprotected at the 2 week point. Please post a source for this info because I'd like to read up on it.
