Hi everyone,
First time poster. I put in a request for two queen size beds and a premium view at the Disneyland hotel for our upcoming trip in October. I am wondering does Disney usually honor these types of request or will my mom and I be stuck sharing a bed. Any tips would be helpful.

Joining in from Edmonton!

The vast majority of the rooms in Disney hotels are Q/Q rooms. In the Disneyland Hotel most of the rooms also have pull-out couches. In short it's very unlikely you'll be stuck sharing a bed.

I agree that most rooms are 2 queens. They've always honored our request for a certain view, not sure if we got lucky or that's the norm. Enjoy your stay!

Yes you will get 2 queen beds and your request will be granted. Did you request a specific tower? If you want that, just let them know.

Also you will likely be in a pool facing room in the Adventure Tower with a premium view reservation.

Edit : maybe also downtown disney view from the adventure tower but definitely at least higher floor pool view from there.

OK. The Frontier Tower I believe has pool views. Go to the DL hotel website and check.
Your requests will be honored.

You'll get the two beds and a view but not necessarily the tower of your choice. I've booked premium view rooms requesting Adventure Tower my last two trips and never got the tower I asked for. Both times was put in the Frontier Tower instead, though, so maybe since you requested Frontier you'll get it. It's the one that's farthest from the parks so maybe fewer people request it. Good news is that it does have great pool views and is close to Trader Sam's. :)

Any tips on Trader Sams?

Brianna I am sorry what did they tell you on check in?
What view did you pay for premium pool or premium

Sorry, I was mistaken -- I actually asked for the Fantasy Tower, not the Adventure Tower. I booked the top (ie most expensive) room at the DLH other than concierge or a suite, as far as I remember that was "Premium" but it was a year ago so I don't recall specifics on whether they called it premium pool or just premium. From the Fantasy Tower, a pool view would be the only room to fit that description; it's either pool or parking lot. Actually this happened to me two visits in a row.

When I asked at check in, they just said there was nothing available. When I complained about it (nicely), they upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. This was last year ... I don't recall what happened the time before but I think they said it was a bigger room or something to that effect.

Trader Sam's is a bar/small restaurant between the pool and the Frontier Tower at the DLH. It's difficult to get a seat. Best time is to go when they open at 11 to guarantee a seat, but actually we never do that because I like to get an alcoholic beverage and I don't drink at 11 am! We've always gone around 5 or 6 and have waited for a seat at the bar, which we've always gotten within 15 minutes or so.

Won't post a spoiler here but you might get a "special" stool if you sit at the bar.

There are lots of sound and light effects when a few of the different specialty drinks are ordered. You have the option of buying a cocktail in a very cool tiki cup or a regular glass. Tiki cups are cute but pricey. Food is good; the fried green beans are a popular option.

Kids are allowed at the tables only up until a certain time, maybe 6 pm or so.

You can't request a premium view. You have to book and pay for a premium view room. What category did you book?

Well, you could request it, but you would be unlikely to get it without paying for it. Sounds like she did both.

It's my understanding that a "premium room" means a view room. But you can request what kind of view you want in the comments section of the reservation. That's what I always do. I also call a few days before to confirm my request is in the reservation notes.

Okay I understand yeah we are paying for a premium and we also requested for the frontier tower

While Frontier tower may be the furthest tower from the lobby, it is also the closest tower at night coming back from DCA, if you are cutting thru the Grand.

I like the Frontier tower. And with a premium view, you stand a chance of getting a 14th floor room with a balcony! Nothing better than sitting on the patio of your room watching fireworks...
