Question about the Disney Visa (was sent a $200 offer)

We signed up when I saw the 100 link somewhere on here. For those of you wanting to get a card, I would just say wait a little bit if you can. Our application process was long because they didn't believe my husband was applying for the card, they called and asked to speak to him and I had to tell them he couldn't, he wasn't even in the same state at the time. After a looong process, faxing them paperwork, and a few calls from managers and such, we got our card.

Now I love our card and was telling DH today how I wish I could get one of the 3X or 5X offers.

The reason on the denial letter was "too many recent credit inquiries

This is a ripoff - we got the same thing and I've NEVER been turned down for anything. We have a perfect credit score as well. Anyone know if its worth applying again in a month or so?

I would wait until the inquires are at least 6 months old. Chase is funny about things like that because it looks like you are looking for more credit with the inquiries.

too late for our trip in six months! Don't know why they bothered to send the invitation!

I got the $200 offer and applied but was rejected. Has this happened to anyone? I have perfect credit with a score over 800. The reason on the denial letter was "too many recent credit inquiries". We just re financed our mortgage which is why my credit was checked recently. Is it worth calling them or reapplying?

Same thing happened to us. We have excellent credit too. I had my husband apply since I already had a card in my name. I figured they wouldn't let us have two separate accounts.

Were you given a reason on your rejection letter? Did you consider calling them or reapplying at a later date? We are in the same boat and have card already in my wife's name. I applied under my name. Perhaps that is the real reason and if so, why did they bother sending me the $200 offer??

I just applied for a Disney Visa - and I'm excited about it.
But I was hoping you guys could answer a couple questions for me about it.

So there is a "gift" card that you get to transfer your reward points to?
Do you get that at the time you get your Visa Card?
Or do you get it when you get your first reward?
If its the second answer.... How long does it take to get that card in once "ordered"
Also -
If I am at Disney World and I make purchases while there - can I call and have those points transfered to my "gift" card while still in The World?

Thanks - I hope this makes sense :goodvibes

eta- forgot to ask - do you get points on balance transfers? If I transfer $1000 from another CC - I'll get 100 points?
Thanks!

We got the offer for the $200 reward card. I didn't think I would be able to get it because DH and I both have our own Disney Visa accounts. When I called and applied it wasn't a problem. I was still worried but I just checked online and I did get the $200 reward points.:cool1: The only thing I have been doing lately is going on Disney web site and looking at different trip options for next year. I don't know if that actually helped. Maybe DH will get the $200 offer also.

I don't understand. You already have a card, but got another card in your name? How does that work?

Yeah I was surprised too. I didn't think it would work but it did. I get a seperate bill each month for any account that I have a balance on. I have one card with a very low intrest rate that I used to do a balance transfer on. The other cards get paid off each month. We just put new flooring on Dh's card to get the rewards. That pay off hurt but the rewards were nice to get. Saving for our trip next year. So any way, if you get the offer and already have a Disney credit card you can still get another one as long as they approve you. :)

bumping to see if anyone has recieved any great offer in the last week or so. I really want more than $15!

How long does it take to get the rewards dollars actually in hand to use for a trip? I am wondering if it's too late to get for this trip...only have about 2 months to go... But if not, I could get it now, use it to pay off the trip ahead of time, and get the dollars to spend on food / souvies in the parks?

TIA!

I ordered the rewards card over the phone and got it in 2 weeks

Got this invitation about week ago and just submitted it and got approved this morning. $200 for using a cc seems like a better deal for my extra vacay $ than a timeshare presentation.

I usually shred all of the pre-approved cc apps I get without even looking at them, but after seeing this deal here, it prompted me to open this one.

Have you done something recently to prompt a cc app to be mailed to you?

We received the $200 offer last week, I can't think of anything we've done to receive it. We seem to get them every couple of months ranging from $150 - $200.
