Question about the DDE...

Does anyone know how long the DDE card is valid?

The DDE card is valid for 1 year. However,I bought mine on March and it is valid till April of next year.

Ours is valid for 13 months (we bought it at the beginning of March 2005 and it is good through April 2006). Timing is important.

It's valid for one year from purchase. However, since they are so backed up in getting them issued and mailed out, they are allowing extra time to make up for how long it takes to get the cards to you. That's why some people say it is valid longer. I don't think the "backed up" problem will last forever. Best to ask the CM when you call to order what the expiration date will be for your card,

I ordered mine on March 1, 2005 and the letter I received says it expires on March 31, 2006. I beleive they are back to having them expire at the end of the month you ordered them, 1 year later.

Yes, you can order the DDE with just the voucher. Reportedly, the CM will ask you for the numbers on the back of your voucher when you call to order.

Another option is to wait until you exchange the voucher and get the actual pass. You can call from your resort to order the card and they will fax a letter to your resort. You can use that in lieu of the card for your first trip. Some have said that the CMs at the DD Guest Relations offices will allow them to fax the letter to you there (some exchange their vouchers at the DD GR office). This last is what I am planning to do - we time our annual trips so that we can get two trips out of the APs and I want to get two trips out of the DDE card as well.

right now, they are certainly compensating for the back up. I ordered mine on February 7th and my email stated it would be good till 3/31/06. I finally received my card yesterday and the expiration date was now 4/30/06.

Yes. Call and order it right after you get your AP. They can fax a letter to you (at your in time to use it on that trip.
