Dh and I will be having another couple and their 2 DD's stay with us in January in a 2 bedroom at AKV.

I wasn't sure how the charging privileges work. Is it all linked to one account or can we have seperate accounts from them? Were not sure yet what to do about dining either, go with the DDP or use our DDE? We did tell them we would like to do dinner with them each evening but the rest could be on their own. We don't want to crowd them or make them feel like we have to spend every waking moment together.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

We went with my inlaws and they would only use one credit card, so we paid for our stuff in cash and he linked his credit card to the room keys.(our room keys did not have the option to charge.)

You can only link one credit card to the room keys, so all charges would be toward that credit card.

There are some things you can do....

1. Your statement will show which card was used for each charge. You could use that to determine who charged what expense.

2. You could go over to the front desk a day before you check out and have them charge a specific amount toward each credit card. EG if using #1 above you discover that you charged $300 and your guests charged $250, then go a day ahead and have $300 charged to your CC, and $250 charged to their CC.

One caveat, if you charge a lot and get close to the room charges limit, DVC will process the charges before you actually check-out. For example if you're staying 10 days, and by day 6 you've charged $1500 or so, they will go ahead and process it. So if you're doing a lot of charges you'll want to go over earlier, for example on day 5.

The final option of course is to have your room keys set to charge to your card, and have their room keys marked as no charging privileges. They could charge using their actual CC at time of purchase.

Having certain room keys designated as no charging is often used by parents who don't want their kids keys to be able to charge, in case they might get lost, for example. When you check in, just tell the CM to only allow charging on your room key, and not on theirs.

Thanks for the info. I kinda knew about the one credit card limit on the bill. I guess we'll let them have the charging privileges and we'll just use the Disney Visa. It would go on there anyway, its just nice not having to carry it around and worry about it.

I thought I read somewhere that this was possible. You have to ask for a "Share", and most CM's won't know what you're talking about, so you will need to ask for a Guest Service Manager.

We went with Sis last April. It was funny how she had reasons why she wasn't interested in any of the perks. She didn't want to charge to the room because of cc theft, and wanted to wait until the last day to purchase souveniers because she thought her kids would go wild spending money.

So mine and hubby's greatest loves of Disney was totally lost on Sis. She also wanted to drive everywhere and couldn't wait to go off-property. She thought we were the only people who ever bothered making ADRs, which had no purpose.

She couldn't believe how inconvenient Disney makes everything! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Luckly for us the people that we are taking LOVE Disney too. They just don't go as often as we do so they will appreciate the stay. I can't wait to see their faces when we walk into our 2 bedroom at AKV. It will be fun!
