Question about Surrey Bike rentals (at Boardwalk)

How late does the rental stand stay open? Can you rent Surrey Bikes in the late afternoon/early evening?

This is a MUST DO for my son on our trip this July, but I can't imagine trying to pedal one of those in the sweltering July heat. We don't even go to the parks until after 5pm in the summer because none of us can stand the oppressive heat in the theme parks during the day.

Trying to figure out the best time to do this activity. If not in the late afternoon/early evening, we will go for as soon as they open in the morning.

So, anyone know the operating hours for the surrey bike rentals?

Two, four and six-seater SURREY BIKES can be rented. Rentals are available on the BoardWalk from 10AM until 10:00 every night.

Last Nov we rented a bike for 6 of us around 4 pm but in 2007 the same crew got one well after dark, the buskers were performing on the 'boards and the crowds they drew made it difficult to get through. Might want to avoid that time of evening. Also, now they tell you to navigate the lake counter clockwise only, no reversing direction.

Thanks. We can work around crowds. Much prefer that inconvenience to a blazing sun!

We last rented one of these in 2009. At that time, we could only go counter clockwise as well.
