I have looked and looked and have not seen this anywhere, so maybe it's not even true.

Can you use your DVC points to stay at non-DVC places at WDW, such as Grand Floridian or Coronado Springs?

And if so, is there a point chart out there for all the hotels? I imagine they don't make it worth your while to do so, but I thought someone told me at a DVC kiosk that you could.

Thanks.

yes. There is a points chart on the members only site.

Although the costs can be more than a 1 bedroom in some cases.

You can use your points at other Disney hotels, including DLR, DLRP, Hong Kong, Japan, and Disney Cruise line. At WDW you can only use points to stay at Deluxe and Moderate hotels.

Members also get point charts every year in their Vacation Planner

The only resorts at WDW that you CANNOT use your points at are the value resorts.

One interesting thing is that the calendar of rates is different for the hotels than for the DVC resorts.

At the hotels "value season", the lowest rates, runs July 5 to October 4 but at DVC the lowest season is "Adventure season" and runs Jan 1- 31, Sept 1-30, and Dec 1-14. Choice season is the second lowest rates and runs Oct 1-31,
Nov 1-21, Nov 25-30, and Dec 15-23

In any case the points needed for Deluxe hotel rooms is nearly twice what you need for DVC stays in a one bedroom... !

You also can not use points at the WL, BC & BWI.
