We stayed at SSR when it was formerly the Disney Institute in a two bedroom townhouse. These were close enough to walk to DTD. Are these the same townhouses I see in the pictures-just remodeled? Or were they torn down and rebuilt. They look the same and are in the same area. Also, from that area, it is quite a long walk to the front. I assume this is still the same?

The DI townhomes were torn down. The SSR villas are totally new.

Can't help with the walk - haven't done it myself. Others have, though. If you do a search, I'm sure you will find the info you want.

Best wishes -

We stayed there with my Father and Step Mother in August. It is a pretty good walk from the closest buildings (I'd say about 10 minutes to DTD, although we did not walk it because my Father just had heart surgery). The bus service was great, you could use it like a shuttle from front of resort to the back buildings and we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any specific bus.....
Hope this helps :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

we stayed at SSR last month and found the walk to DTD to be very nice. it did not take but about 5 minutes, 10 if you are strolling. this is from the last of the builiding in congress park. one thing we learned the hard way is the boat dock is at the far end of the resort. ssssoooo, if you are in congress park area then it is closer to walk back from DTD than to take the boat.
