I am arriving at wdw on 2/18 and staying 1 night a wilderness cabins. Then I have the next 4 nights at VWL. How do I switch from one hotel to the other? Do I give my luggage to bell service at the cabins early the next morning? or do I go to VWL and try to check in early and leave my baggage with them until the room is available? I don't want to miss time in the parks if I can avoid it...

You can do either - it's a matter of personal preference.

My info is several years old but I bet nothing has changed.
I have given my bags to the bell desk at the hotel I am checking out of and let them handle the transfer. Happy to say they end up in the bag room at the next hotel. When your room is assigned you call down for them.

On our last trip to DW, they didn't have availability at Kidani so our party was split up. My DH and I went to Pop Century and my daughter and her children and guest went to Jambo House. They have the info at check in but we made it clear to them that we were going to Kidani from each resort and we were told to be sure everything was packed up and they would take the bags to Kidani. We met and went to the parks and in the late afternoon when we came back, the bags were in the room. It was a very smooth move for us...even though they mixed up our bags with those of the family down the hall but that was quickly remedied.:)

When I did a split stay I just called bell services at AKL to come pick up the luggage, and I told them on the phone that they needed to be transfered to WL. Everything was at WL's bell services when I arrived there that evening around 6pm. I just stopped by there and asked them to bring them up to my room, and they arrived in about 5 minutes.

Always have used bell services. Call in the morning and then head to the park. They'll pick up and bring all groceries/bags/items over. Very easy and never had any issues but remember to tip.

Wow it all sounds so easy! Thank you for the information! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it goes so smoothly.....who know! Maybe my wait list for the one day will still go through and I won't have to switch resorts at all. Thank you for the input!

Just wanted to add - it is very odd to have your bags delivered into your next room. That really never happens, but obviously it did to the PP. Only Magical Express delivers bags to your room when you are not there. Normally, you call Bell Services and they bring them to your room only when you are in it.

We have switched resorts on several stays. We always call bell services up to our original room and have them transfer the luggage to our next destination. We then head to the parks and return in the afternoon to our new resort to check-in. Once in the room, we call our new resort's bell services to have our luggage delivered. What I think is really great is that they will store foods and drinks you have bought in their big fridge so everything stays fresh. :)

I have never had a problem with bell services moving the bags between resorts or storing them when moving from a studio to a one bedroom, but once when my mother was with us she was moving to the All Star Sports resort to stay with my brother's family for a few more days they did lose her luggage in transit for 2 days but did finally find them. She did get a giftcard out of the deal to buy clothes to wear while she was waiting for her luggage, but it was an inconvenience of not having her regular toiletries to use. A few problems happen every once in a while, but I think that overall the bell services are great. The best was at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. The bell service person came right to the cabin with a van and picked up the luggage. Because they do not get too many requests to have luggage moved there, he was taking it right over to Boardwalk Villas where we were transfering to. He offered me a ride over to the resort to check it. It was wonderful, as I got to check in early without transfering busses somewhere and got back to enjoying the park really quick.
