My sister and I are taking our Mom with us to WDW in a few weeks. Last time my Mom brought her own personal wheelchair to use in the airport and at WDW. This year we are planning to rent an EVC to use at WDW. She can walk, but just not long distances. I forget what is exactly wrong with her ankle, but do know that there is an extra bone in it that can make walking very painful.

My question is where do you request a skycap at? I know from past experience you could request one when you got off the plane. But where do you request one when you get to the airport? And should I put that request on our flight reservation? We're flying on Delta.

Thanks!

I always request directly with the airline at both ends in both directions, either when I make my reservation or I call back. In addition, I usually use curbside check-in, and the SkyCaps there ask if I need a wheelchair.

I tip $5 or $10, depending on the distance traversed and if the person does anything extra.

Several years ago (2004 I believe) I got my mom a wheelchair (and driver - grin) right after we went thru security at DTW. The young man was very nice and took us right to the gate. Just ask around or call before you get there, I'm sure you can get one.
