I know some of you out there have Sky+, and I was hoping that you could help me

I'm an existing customer with an ordinary box, looking to go for Sky+.

I know all about the great features of it, but I was wondering if you could still record programmes onto a DVD recorder?

This is so you can watch the programme in another room (I don't really want Sky Multiroom).

With Sky+, can you only watch the recorded programmes through that box, or can you still record onto a DVD recorder?

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

We put a lot of things onto dvd from sky+ without any problem once you have got it you will wonder how you ever did without it.

On the back of the Sky+ there are 2 SCART sockets, one to link to the TV and one to link to a DVD recorder. So you should be able to record from the Sky+ hard drive to the external DVD recorder :)

You can also take an output from RF2 and watch it in the next room, and use the control too. You can get kits from Maplin, B&Q etc. If you would like more info then drop me a line.

You can watch Sky in another room as mentioned above but you do have to link with a co axial cable between Sky and the other tv. You can also buy av senders (see in Argos) which use a piggy back type of scart connector to your existing one that goes to the tv. They come in pairs initially but extra receivers can be bought. They transmit the signal through the air, eliminating the need for cables, however, they can be prone to interference from other wireless equipment and people moving around. The only piece of equipment that affects my av senders are the XBox 360s, the wireless router is fine. AVforums is an excellent site for finding and asking questions about all sorts of equipment.
