This is going to sound odd...
And I'll preface this by saying that I've already made a doctor's appointment, so I'm just asking here not seeking medical advice per se, but more to see if anyone has ever experienced this before...
I've had a strange "divot" or "hole" type thing on my back for about 6 years. It's almost like a chunk of skin just went missing one day. It's about 4 inches below my neck, just right of center, and it's about half an inch in diameter and about a quarter inch deep at the center.
It's never given me any problems, and as a matter of fact, doctors have looked at it before and were puzzled by it, asking me if I had any idea where it came from.
None of them ever seemed concerned by it.
The only thing I could ever think of was that maybe I was bitten by a spider. I know that some spider bites (brown recluse in particular) can cause tissue degeneration. But I would remember if anything like that had happened.
The only concern is that now the spot is becoming darker and is sore to the touch. So I've made an appointment to have it looked at. But I have a feeling it's going to be shrugged off by the doctor as some strange, unknown thing.
Anyone have any ideas?
