Question about shipping MagicBands to FW

Has anyone here ever had their MB's shipped to the Fort instead of their home? I have 2 back to back ressies for the Fort, and I know the first set of MB's will get to my home in plenty of time for our trip. However, due to our schedule, I'm not sure that the second set would get here in time. I mean, technically, they should, but you never know. I called Disney to see what our options were, and they can't ship earlier than 30 days out to make sure they get here. But the CM said that we could designate the Fort as our shipping address for just that set of MB's. She got it all set up for me to ship them there, she was just a sweetheart. But then I got off the phone and thought to myself...the Fort is going to get those MB's a few weeks before we get there. Will they really hold on to them for that long? Or am I better off changing the shipping address again to a friend's house in Florida where we will be visiting right before we head to Disney, and he can just hold on to them until we get there. I really don't want to make any more phone calls today lol, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has done this before. If this is common and the Fort just hangs onto them, then I'll just leave it as is. And really, worst case, we'll already have 1 set of MB's already. I'm guessing the Fort would have them for 3 or 3 1/2 weeks before we get there.

We Canadians don't get them shipped to us but rather get them when we check in - perhaps your FW shipping address will work the same way?

jhomuth,

Once you have one Magic Band, you don't need any more.

Let the ones for the first visit ship to you if you don't have any. But go into your second reservation in MDE and there is an option to decline those MB's.

One MB links you to your account and your account is linked to FP's, ADR's, resort reservations, etc. We bought some nice Gen 1 MB's online from The Disney Store before our first MB trip and used those in subsequent visits and just declined getting new ones on each trip (make sure to do that before your T-30 day mark).

Some folks used to get MB's each trip to create a multi-colored collection and/or game the FastPass system with phony names on their accounts with the extra MB's. But that loop hole got shut.

So you can get by with one just fine.

bama_ed,

I know we only need one set. I have 5 kids ages 4-13 though who love their MB's and love getting to pick different colors when we have more than one reservation. Plus, with 5 of them, it's nice to have a spare. If someone loses one, we don't have to go to Guest Relations to replace it. And it's part of the fun for us all to get to pick them out and pick new nicknames for them each trip. These trips are pretty eagerly anticipated!! So worst case, we will have the set that ships to our home. As for reusing them from past trips, my kids tend to goof off with them here at home...and with 2 years between trips, I have no idea where half of our past ones even are lol! Hmmm, I actually think I've seen one on the floor behind the rabbit hutch. Yeah, kids.

morrik5, I'm thinking it would work the same way. Since yours aren't shipped to you, but to the resort, your resort would have them pretty early.
