Question about sharing left over days on our ticket??

We are passing our left over days on our tickets over to some friends for their vacation and I was wondering if they match an i.d. and make you sign the back of the tickets at the gate. Has anyone else tried sharing their days with someone else? Need info immediately on this. We leave Sat. and had this all planned out when someone questioned me on having sign the backs and checking ids

It really depends upon who you get when you go through the turnstile (sp?)- Most of the time they do not check, but I have heard of cases where they do - Just depends upon who you get -

I appreciate the response! I'd also love to hear any other experiences anyone's had doing this.

I thought this idea was cut and dried until I found out they might have to be signed! I hope it doesn't ruin our friends vacation plans!

I've NEVER been ID'd or asked to sign the back of a pass. My husband and I got AP's in November that say we must show ID because we got the military rate through SOG, and they still don't ask for it, because of the finger scan. If you're using anything but an AP I wouldn't worry in the least. They have no way of identifying that hopper with a specific person. On our next trip my oldest son will be using his grandparents left-over hoppers (2 days on each). Then we'll use the plus features on them, as all our kids have plus features left to use. Just don't make it a point to tell the CM at the gate you're sharing a pass.

By the way, we just took our 9th trip, and are planning #10 in May and #11 in Sept. I mention that so you know I've been there just a little.

I have never been asked..the only time they pay any attention, is if our AP finger scan takes too long.
There is nothing to connect me to my regular tickets. We have them in a pile. We are the keeper of our entire families tickets. When we go on vacation, we just pass them out as we get to the gate..and that includes to the otehr adults in our group. Is there even a place to sign the back of the tickets? I've never turned them over.

What kind of passes are they? I know you can't share annual passes and some of the ones they talk about here on the Budget board that are meant for Europeans.

they are 5 days for the price of 3 bought thru AAA. No special fastpass option or meal vouchers or anything fancy.

I didn't know AAA had that deal for Disney. I thought it was just for Universal or Busch Gardens or something.

The only passes I know that would work for sure are the Park Hoppers.

WDW official policy is that tickets are nontrasferrable.
It is also against Florida law to sell or transfer partially used tickets in a business transaction.

At Disneyland I bought a multiday pass and they suggested I sign the back of the pass, but I never did. Just used the days as needed. It seems that with the 5 days for the price of 3 they might need to do something different and have you sign because it seems that many people are doing this.

Let us know what happens, I am curious.

It might be against Florida law... but it's a bit of an unenforceable law b/c the tickets are probably not associated with a particular name at all. At the turnstiles, when you stick a multi-day pass through, a digital screen shows what type of pass it is, but never a name. I never saw anyone who was asked for ID on a non-AP pass.

You should have no problem sharing hoppers with friends.
Anyone with any kind of hopper pass (or perhaps ANY ticket media???) can use the Fast Pass machines.
And I too am very curious about the pass that you got. Would you mind telling us how much you paid for it? And does it have anything printed on the back identifying what kind of ticket it is?

So it is OK to break any law that you have a slim chance of getting caught breaking?

After 10 trips to Disney World, we have never been ID'd to use park hoppers. You will have no problem at all. We have one person hold our park hoppers and pass them out when we enter the park, so someone uses a different one each time they go thru the gate. As long as they have days on them there is no problem.

I do not think we need to start the debate about the legality of this!! It has been discussed before over, over, and over. Hope your friends have a good time.

I have bought hopper passes and used them with several family members and my best friend (who I consider a sister) Never had any problems.

My feeling is that Disney does NOT want you reselling the passes. I even told the CM that I was buying the 5 day even though my mom and I were only there for 3 days because I had family/friends who I would bring. She did not even blink!

I am sorry, I would never resell a pass, but what I do with MY pass is up to me. I would never loan out my AP either.

From what I understand, that Florida law was to crack down on ticket resellers in Florida, NOT to stop people from sharing their hopper passes.

I think the pass the OP was talking about was for Disneyland and not WDW. We bought this pass on our last trip to DL in March and we gave them to a DIS member whose kids were taking friends to DL the next weekend. The passes worked fine ... all 5 days .

WOW! I didn't mean to start a debate over this. Yes, this is for Disneyland. Maybe I should have clarified that in the first post.

Also, I don't know anything else about these tickets because my mother purchased them for the whole family at one time and she's got all of them until we get there. I think she payed $113 or $115 for an adult park hopper, $95 for a childs ph ( hop between Disneyland and California Adventure).

I appreciate all the responses. I love reading this board and the wonderful advice everyone gives. I've been lurking and reading for a while to get ready for this trip. I will try to relax about the tickets and just have fun.
