Wanted to know if someone out there could give some advice on what they went thru selling their timeshare with The Timeshare Store. We are going to sell ours. Ours is paid off, and we just are not wanting to keep this any more.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I only bought through Timeshare Store. Have not sold yet. But on the purchase they were very responsive and answered all questions. The broker checks out with a clean license and BBB record. I would use them again. Our agent was Pat Spell.

Thanks so much Jim. That is who we are using for our sale of the Timeshare Store. I was hoping that someone would mention her.

There are several reasons for our selling -

We went 3 times over a years time- first in March of 04' using our points, September of 04' after bidding on ebay for the week, and then Jan 05 with 16 family members.

1. We bought so we could take friends and family, but every time we go to plan(we do so at a little less than a year ahead of schedule) we have a hard time getting them to commit. We do not charge for the room, but it is still expensive to go for them.

2. We are wanting to buy or build a house and this money would come in handy...

3. My husband is not so much on Disney as I am.

4. After going many times since we have bought, we have noticed a considerable change in Disney. *** I am not saying it is not worth going at all** I just have been alot since I was young and now it just seems to be all about MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY... It used to be that things were so magical there but now it is not so much for me. We will still go but will take other trips now.

5. We like to go other places and in the beginning of our buying the DVC we used it to go to Charleston Place in SC and to Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC, but now they charge you so much in points and to book it that you can find deals just as cheap staying on cash.

6. You can rent from someone and go with just US (we will not be going with family or friends anymore) for as much as we spend in dues a year.

These are just a few reasons. Don't get me wrong I will miss Disney so much, but I know that we will be going back. The main reason I loved having the time share is that I could cook and not have to eat out so much. I love to cook and always did a menu and cooked breakfast and supper each day we were there.

I do not want anyone to think that it is not worth it, but we looked into buying a house (townhome or condo) before we bought the timeshare and I sortof wish we had done that. When we get what we want in a house and get settled we will be buying a vacation home or something..

Hope this makes sense. I am very sad that we are selling!!!!

Thanks!!!

Don't forget that you always have the option of selling the contract yourself. There really has been a flurry of activity lately in the resale market and contracts are getting snapped up very quickly for (especially for BCV and BWV). Either way, you'll have it sold in no time. Good Luck!

People from Europe are buying up the resales like they are eating candy due to the falling dollar V euro. If your going to do it,do it now....

We bought one of our contracts through The Timeshare Store. Then we sold one contract through *********** (********). Both transactions were very smooth. Our sale was also especially fast since we were selling a small contract and it got snapped up quickly. I would highly recommend either of those two brokers.

I loved reading through your list of reasons for selling. My husband and I agreed before buying that we will probably not be using our points for family and friends to stay free. We are getting a 'ton' of points at two different resorts, and the amount of time that I've spent researching WDW and planning could never be appreciated, except from a fellow DVCer. I just received an email from a new resort that they're building near WDW. I'm going to look into those too. The rest of Orlando is very unattractive to me, but it can only get better! I already am used to International Blvd, and have visited a friend's home near the airport. I could see us spending some serious time in Orlando over the next 20 years or so!
