Question about SDMT stand-by wait times early morning

We've just planned a quick 1-day trip to Magic Kingdom for July 28th and all FPs are gone for the SDMT. The park opens at 8am and if we arrive at that time and stand-by for the ride, approximately how long a wait is there and what is the earliest time I should book my FPs for available attractions like SM?
I will keep checking to see if SDMT opens up, but if not, just so I can plan on the other FPs.

Thanks!

We don't know how early you (in particular) will reach the mine train after they open MK to guests, so we don't know how soon you'll be able to ride.
Figure you'll be out of the mine train, latest, within the first hour.

Book other FP for at least an hour after opening.
It also makes sense to time FPs even later.

Remember that when you book a FP, you will have a full hour after the earliest
time on that FP in order to enter the FP queue.

Thanks, Robo!
I figured 10am for our first fast pass to be safe.
Funny, as much as I've used FP in the past, I totally didn't think about arriving near the end of the hour. Seems like we usually try to use them as soon as the window opens up.

We went straight there at rope drop (Mid-April), turned right just before the castle (towards teacups) and we were in line by 8:12 and off the ride by 8:35

We were there for the opening show near the front (past the scanners & waiting). When they opened the gates we followed the crowd down Main Street to the Mine Train & I want to say we were on, rode & done within 30 minutes from when they opened the park. We then ran over & did standby for Peter Pan cause it wasn't too bad yet.

That sounds like a good strategy. We probably won't FP Peter Pan, so we could head over there before our first 10-ish FP which right now is Splash.
