We are staying at RPR Thursday night. The next day we are doing Islands of Adventure & US. We booked the hotel for the front of the line access, when we check out on Friday, do we have to give them our key cards? I'm hoping that we can keep them. I was just worried whether we would be able to still do fotl :) Thanks!!

I was thinking that they scan them now at the ride entrance to see if yours is current or old (if you are current your cool, old your not) they were doing this last year, last time I went, some peeps on here that have been this year may help, I think ChrisFl has just went, maybe he will know. ChrisFL????

We stayed at RPR last week. Most of the time we just had to flash our room keys for FOTL access (which we were wearing on a lanyard around our necks), sometimes they would actually look at the card (your name and dates are printed on the front) and very rarely they would actually scan the card. We had a late flight on Saturday, so we had to check out in the morning and left our luggage with the luggage valet guy and went to the parks until 2 p.m. We had no problem using our room keys all day. I do seem to remember my son saying on one of the rides they scanned his card and it didn't work but they let him go on anyway because the date on his card was valid.

Keep them. We have a stack 5" thick.

:lmao: ............You will get FOTL the entire day you check out.....like MichiganMom said, your name & date of stay are printed on the card... Don't forget you can have charging priveledges on your room key/card also.... My 2 cents...we were there 5 days in June, and only 2 or 3 times they wanted to scan our cards (Cat in Hat ride). Nobody else did this, just them, and it was all the same night! (I mentioned:"Don't you remember us? We were JUST thru here?" :rotfl: ) Anyhow, that last time, one of our cards wouldn't scan and they just said "oh, go ahead" after looking at the date. Some TM's really look at the cards (for the date I'm guessing), others just glance to see if it IS a room key card.....

I am assuming you brought a lanyard from home. I am unfamiliar with the keys. Does it have a latch or hole in it??

Thanks!

went to walmart and bought the lanyard w/ the neckstrap for DS (in my plain view to make sure he always had it)....it was "velcroed" in the back, so I just knotted it to be sure he kept it....DH & I had the ID holder on the pull cord....it snapped shut...easy access to pull key out to charge stuff to room....DH said it was best thing we bought (besides room onsite ;) ) I got them in the accessories department at walmart for about $2. each. There aren't any holes in your key card....it's just like a credit card......

Just remember....although your room key is still good for express access after you check out of the hotel, it is NOT still good for charging things.
