Question about room availability?

Hi, guys!

I booked a package w/ the free dining offer, and we're staying at POFQ 12/11-12/17. I was lucky enough to realize we came in under budget for the vacation, so I wanted to add a night to the package. Because we're driving in from Atlanta, we booked a room at the Rosen Centre through Hotwire for Saturday, and will check in to POFQ on Sunday the 11th. I wanted to add the night of the 18th to the package, that way we'd be staying a full 7 nights.

POFQ has no availability for the 18th. I booked a room only ressie at CSR for the 18th, just in case we couldn't get anything else. I tried calling Disney today to see if we could just move to CSR for the week, and add the night of the 18th to our package. They say there are no rooms available for that week at CSR, despite availability on the website.

Are there only a certain number of rooms available on the free dining PIN? Why wouldn't they let us move the reservation if there are rooms available? Is moving from one resort to another on the last day of our vacay really worth it?

Thanks!

that's it exactly, no PIN rooms available. We live in Columbus and are arriving at the GF on Friday with a PIN. I decided that we may as well go in on THursday after the girls get out of school. No discounts at all for this Thursday but I did score CSR for $161.61 with tax with a AAA rate. If you have AAA call back and ask about POFQ with it, it's showing availability at $!85 with tax rack rate. HTH...

We are AAA members, and I checked the AAA site and the WDW site, and I'm still not showing any availability for the 17th. :confused3

I guess I'll just stick with Coronado Springs for the 17th. It will be a pain to move, but I'm sure it will fine.

Does anyone know if I can add the dining plan for a room only reservaton without having to add park tickets? We have 10 day park hoppers w/ no expiration.

Unfortunately, no......in order to get the DDP you must purchase at least a 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room, unless it's free dining which requires at least a 2 day base ticket.

Sorry sweetie, you said 18th in your original post so I was checking the 18th.

I am pretty certain that you'd have to buy tickets. For one day this late wih no reservations made I'd just pay out of pocket.

Discounts are done to fill rooms. You cannot just arbitrarilly decide to stay somewhere else on a discount. If the resort is already at near capacity, they do do not need to discount rooms.

I guess if I had read the sticky at the top of the page prior to posting, I would have known all this cool stuff. :)

I guess changing resorts isn't so bad... I may cancel my reservation at CSR and stay somwhere nice. There are rooms available at CR and the Swan. I can also add the night of the 10th to my package, so I may just count the $60 I spent on the Hotwire room as a loss. And considering we upgraded to the deluxe dining (it's just the hubs and I, so we really go to eat and drink our way through World Showcase.), I think I can swing dining for one day for less than $150.

Le sigh. I have 99 problems, and they're all first world.

Thanks for your help, peeps!
