Question about Room Amenities at Poly

I have a question regarding what is in the room at the poly. We are staying on Disney (for the FIRST time... grin) and have reserved a lagoon room at the poly.

I had heard that some of the resorts basically have a liquid soap dispenser on the wall. Is this the case at the "deluxe" resorts?

Also - how tacky is it to get a fridge and eat breakfast in your room? Do you feel like a creep dragging a case of soda to your room?

Thanks!
Pam

You can rent a fridge for $10 a day (they are small though!), and lots of people eat breakfast in the room. And take your soda, I always bring water when not staying concierge.

They have real bars of Mickey soap, no wall mounted liquid dispensers at the Poly.

Pam,

Lots of people bring breakfast items for their rooms. As well as drinks. On our last trip, we had a collapsible cooler in the bathroom and kept milk, juice, juice boxes and little yogurt cups. WE also were travelling with 4 kids who always wanted to have snacks in the room.

We had little bowls for cereal and granola bars to take to the parks.

And Anne was right, you definitely want to bring your own water.

Our rooms at the Poly (stayed there twice in concierge rooms) did not have the soap dispensers. Also, I certainly would take food/drinks to your room--don't worry about it at all. I think you have to rent a fridge, but it could really be useful. :)

In a deluxe resort, you get small bottles of shampoo and lotion, two sizes of bar soap and shower caps.

Lots of people eat breakfast in their room. Going out takes way too much prime park time in addition to the $. We always take two cases of water, a bunch of sodas, two shopping bags of food, and a cooler (why pay $10 a night for a tiny refrig.) We let bell services tote it to the room with everything else. We also have had them to move it when we switched resorts.

The last 2 times we stayed at the Poly(July, 1 room & Aug 2 rooms) we had a fridge in our rooms, free of charge and we never even requested it.

Poly comes with soap, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a hair dryer mounted on the wall in the bathroon.

In the closet there is an iron and an ironing board. Also a safe. No fridge in rooms. You need to order one at $10.00 a day.

If you are staying for a week a fridge can be expensive. You can purchase a small cooler. Fill it with ice that free and ample. For 1/10 the cost.
