Question about ROFR

As I have been pondering about the current DVC promotion and purchaing into DVC at AKL, I have been looking at the DVC website and viewing the other resorts. Since we like to spend some time in the resorts on our vacations, I have to admit I think I prefer the BCV and BWV as compared to AKL and SSR. I know I can buy one of them resale, but what happens when Disney exercises ROFR on a sold-out resort? Is there a waiting list for these properties? If so, how much does DVC sell them for? Is the the price that they exercised in the ROFR or do they add a premium?

they step into the place of the buyer and buy at the agreed-upon terms. the original intended buyer has to start all over...there is no opportunity to bid higher after ROFR.

Is there a waiting list for these properties?

depends on the use year month and when you ask, but for BCV...usually yes. here's the thread with more detailed info:

they exercise their ROFR primarily to make a profit...buy low and sell high and all that. the latest rates to add-on directly per the previous thread (prices to first-time-buyers may be higher):

AKV = $104 - $8 incentive = $96
SSR = $104 - $10 incentive = $94
BCV = $101
BWV = $98
VWL = $98
OKW = $96
HHI = $92
VB = $92

Check the ROFR thread to see what the recent passing contracts have been. I just passed ROFR on BCV at $88 a point, loaded contract... I'm a very happy girl (even though the waiting is stressful!).

The waiting list is probably because Disney won't just buy any contract... they need the price low enough to make some $ on it, or they're not going to touch it. You could probably call the Timeshare Store (or GMAC, etc.) and find a contract today!
