Question about Rider Switch

I have a preschooler who is not tall enough to go on Space Mountain. However, my sister and I (the only others in our group), both want to ride it. I understand that we can use Rider Switch to take turns riding alone while the other waits with my daughter. This is great.

My question is about other rides where three people might have issues, like Dumbo, or Tomorrowland Speedway, or Buzz Lightyear. If we all three wait in line, can each adult ride once with the child using Rider Switch? My daughter would be big enough to ride, but since three can't fit on some rides, could we switch off and have her go twice? Or would the third person just have to ride alone or with a stranger who is also a single rider? Just trying to understand how it works.

It is up to the discretion of the CMs if rider switch can be used for guests tall enough to ride. There is constant debate about this point, even though the (often incorrect and misleading) official Disney website may say otherwise.

I may be confused here. Are you saying you want get the rider switch pass for your daughter, then let her ride anyway and use the switch just to get an additional ride?

If so, that's an abuse of the rider switch pass. It's not intended to get you extra rides- if your daughter can ride and is willing to ride, you're not entitled to a rider switch pass under any definition of who qualifies for one.

It's a way for adults to be able to ride if their child is too little, not s way to get 2 rides for the child. An adult or older child will just have to ride alone or with a stranger - happens all of the time.

Rider swap is only available for rides with a height requirement, as listed here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.cfm.

If you are an odd numbered group, then someone will have to ride alone on the attractions that only seat 2. For the most part, if the ride vehicle only seats 2 people and only 1 person is riding, they will not find a stranger to ride. The only attractions this might happen are the 2 that have single rider lines (RnR, EE, TT) or if the ride is an extremely popular one. I have heard of them combining people for TSM, which I have never had happen, and SDMT.
