question about ressies

This will be our first trip to DWD and I have a question. Should we make reservations for a sit down meal each day? We are in the process of figuring out what parks to visit each day and we are on the dining plan. We weren't sure if we could just "wing" it with eating or should we really consider making ressies for the restraunts. Thanks for any help you can give us.

You are traveling in June and you are on the DDP. I wouldn't "just wing it" Its a busy time of year and many TS restaurants will refuse walk ups. I was there last week when crowds were low, and I still saw many people turned away at the podiums.

Decide what days for what parks and choose a few places you might like to try. You may not get your first choices with only a month to go, but you might luck out. Have aleternates just
in case.

Familiarize your self with the layout of WDW. The resorts have some of the best restaurants. If you choose to eat at a resort other than your own it is sometimes easier to do so on a day you are visiting the theme park most convient to it.

With the DDP you get one TS for each night you are there, BUT you don't have to use one a day. Some of the finer Signature restaurants and dinner shows are 2 TS credits each. So take into account how you would like to use the credits.

If you are going during the free DDP period in Sept, you may already be too late to make resies. For any time of year you should be makeing reservations no less then 4 months out... more if you can coordinate that far in advance.

When it comes to which parks on which days... well a lot of people will tell you to avoid the Park with Extra Magic Hours. I am pro morning EMH as we are early risers. Evening EMH tend to get less crowded the later it gets. you can google for tour plans and find some great resources for which days when, and how to plan a day to maximize your time in the parks.

WDW is a vacation that fights back, if you do not go with an outline, you can easily be overwhlemed.

I highly recommend making reservations. We were there last year in June and we saw lots of people being turned away. Restaurants had no openings for the entire evening. My husband thought I was crazy for making reservations ahead of time, then when we got there he was grateful.
