Ok, I have a question. When someone calls and cancels their reservation, when does it go back in the system so other people can get it. I have heard it goes in right away, I have heard it takes 20 minutes to go in, and I have heard it updates over night and is in first thing in the morning. What is the actual truth?

I don't know the answer, but can share our Thanksgiving experience. We called several times a day to desperately try to piece together Thanksgiving week. (We had resort ressies, and then DH bought a new trailer for my birthday) Anyway, twice we were told nothing was available in the morning, but something had opened up by the afternoon. Hope this helps!:goodvibes

I am fairly new to posting (but not lurking;))on this board but, as of last week I have personal experience with this question.

With the help of SYNDROME (Thanks again!!!!:thumbsup2 ) last week, we coordinated his cancellation day and time and I called the same time that he did and waited a few moments for his cancellation to show up. The cancellation showed up the moment he canceled and I got the days that I wanted this January (MLK weekend).:dance3:

Before we set this up, I called WDW to make sure it was real time and it is. You can call up to 10pm EST and as early as 7am EST and it does not matter when a person cancels. If you know of someone that is canceling try to PM them and set up a time to call. If Syndrome had not kindly posted in a thread that he was canceling, I would still be calling! But, I am not!!!!!!:cool1:

Good Luck!:)

I can tell you that they usually come up within a few minutes. I was trying to get CRT and had just been told that they were booked but to keep trying back. As they CM was explaining how it works to me (I already knew but hate to stop them when they are so nice) she said, "wait, a time just opened up as I was sitting here looking at it and talking to you." So, I was lucky enough to get it and everyone was happy. Well that is except for the person that had to cancel. Keep trying and good luck.
