Can I rent point from several different people to make up the number of points needed at a particular resort? For instance, if i needed 160 points for a stay at BWV, can I get 40 points from oner person, 20 points from another person and then 100 points from a third person to equal 160? Or should they all be purchased at once from one person? I am not a member or owner of DVC. Thanks!

No, not really....I mean you could, but each individual you rent from would have to make a seperate reservation.
Using your example of 160 points, lets say you were trying to stay for 8 nights at 20 points per night (just to keep things simple)...then the person you got 40 points from would have to make reservations for 2 nights, then the person you got 20 points from would have to make a reservation for one night, and the person you got 100 points from would have to make a reservation for 5 nights..and I don't think you can even link reservations from different members...so.. no, not really.
Now, if you were a member, yes..just have them all transfer the points onto your account and away you go.
Hope that makes sense.

It would be much simpler to get all from one source.

If you are trying to book with in the 7 month window then points from any resort would work. You only need a specific resorts points if the person making the reservation for you is taking advantage of the 11 month window. Once you are at the 7 month window the resort no longer matters.

Although it is described as "renting points" what is really going on is that you are renting a reservation from a DVC member. The DVC member uses their points to make the reservation for you but you don't really rent the points directly, do not have any access to or control of the points and therefore cannot combine points from several members and then go make a reservation yourself. So, you need to find a member who has enough points to cover your entire reservation.

Hope this makes sense!
