Question about rental car

As this will be our first time flying instead of driving we are getting a rental car since we will be flying into Sanford. Do rental prices typically go up or down closer to your arrival date? Right now we have one for 3 nights and its $116 with enterprise for next month.

$38 a day is pretty reasonable and I would jump at that price. Keep in mind that taxes and other fees will more likely push your total cost up close to $200, not including gas or insurance (if you opt for it).

Sorry I didn't directly answer your question but for MCO rentals I think you did well.

They go all over. And usually go down two to three weeks before your rental dates. I keep watching until the day before.

The exception to this is if you are going around some sort of holiday. Rates often stay high around holidays.

Note that this applies to rentals at MCO...not sure how much competition there is at Sanford. And $38 sounds a bit high to me. I got a full size in October for 8 days for $179 total, including taxes, so around $20 a day.

Rates really depend on when you're going. Since you have a car just keep checking and if you find a better deal, book it and cancel your original one. I didn't have any luck with prices going down looking any closer to my dates.

I saw them typically dropping, until real close at Sandford. I grabbed the Enterprize for 8 days, mini van for $300. The Alamo was $500.00 There was a drop on Alamo to $308 the week before. The Enterprize van was new but had a bang on t. I probably will take the Alamo next time if comparable rates.

The rates ran about $380 for months before the drop for the 8 day rental. That was just over two weeks out.
