Question about Rainforest Cafe at AK

Is there an entrance outside the park to the restaurant?

My dad and stepmom live in FL and want to come see us while we are down from NY without interfering with our plans for the week. They do not want to come to any of the parks and want to meet us for lunch. The days they can come make it difficult for me because of ADRs and touring plans I don't want to change.

The 2 days I can swap without too many changes or too much inconvenience are AK and a water park day. I was thinking we could go to AK the day they want to come and they could meet us at the Rainforest Cafe at AK. When we're done they can leave and we can go back into the park. Is that possible?

I don't want to say "catch ya next time we're down" but I also don't want to give up half a day at any park to go meet them off property somewhere or even at DTD. It just doesn't fit in our schedule for the days I can switch around.

Yes, there is an entrance outside of AK for the Rainforest Cafe.

DTD would be free, and you could always meet for a late lunch after the water park day.

Yes the entrance is outside the park, so it will work. You didn't mention if you were on the dining plan, but Rainforest doesn't take DDP.

By the way, you can go online and get coupons for Rainforest. They have a kids meal coupon and also a 10% off one. You can link to it from mousesavers, or just google Rainforest Cafe.

I thought of a late lunch but we're not getting to the water park until around 11am and there is no way I'm getting either my husband or son out of there in 2 or 3 hours, and I don't want to go, leave and dry off/change, then go back. I don't want to go to the water parks to begin with and that's been a big fight between me and my husband.

We have a great water park 20 minutes from our house that we pay $200 for all three of us for the entire summer. I'm MAD about having to pay 2 extra nights at Disney, 2 extra days on our car, and for water park passes just because it's Disney water parks. I can buy a couple of YEARS worth of season passes for the local park for what it's costing us to spend 2 days at the ones at Disney. I lost that fight, so now to have to give up a few hours at the water park that we're essentially paying a small fortune to go to, is not going to make me happy. It's not even a "Disney is so expensive" complaint, it's why on earth are we paying a small fortune to go to any other water park when we can go to the one right here all we want all summer long for pennies!!

Either way-it's still a lot of $ for parking JUST to eat lunch. IMO anyway.
