We are closing on our second BWV contract with March UY in about a week. We are getting 11 pts. that have to be used by 2-28-09 and we already have a trip end of Jan. and too far to go again from Maui. My question is are those pts. just lost forever? If so maybe I should give them to a member that can use them. Another option would be to extend an extra day but I think United charges $200 change fee and that would not make sense.
Happy New Year,
Al

If any of the points you have already used for your trip could still be banked if you "took them back" then you might have an option. MS could replace those points with the 11 points you are receiving that will be expiring. The one catch is that you will be cancelling and rebooking -- shouldn't be a problem as long as their is availability. Once you have possession of those 11 points call MS and see what they might be able to do for you.

MS will give you a once in a life time points bank past the dead line. Just give them a call.

Thanks,
I will try both of the above. On second choice do I need to ask for a supervisor?

If the points have already been banked from the 2007 Use Year they cannot be banked again. If they are current points, MS may let you bank them beyond the deadline. There is nothing written about this, so you won't have any documentation to fall back on if it is not allowed, but it's certainly worth asking.

Good luck! :)
