Question about Prices Changing

Hi all - I'm wondering if someone can explain to me how and when you can "lock in" your prices when Disney changes them from time to time....:confused3

I understand that prices cannot be confirmed until 6 months prior to your wedding, so does this mean the ideal time for a planning session would be exactly 6 months prior so you can "lock in" your prices as early as possible?

I'm not scheduled to be in Florida for my PS until 4 months prior to my wedding and I'm starting to worry about prices going up later this year. Should I reschedule my trip and go earlier?

If you are not guaranteed the prices that were valid on the date you signed your contract, at what point can you confirm your prices?

I'm not sure I am effectively describing my question, but I'm hoping you will understand what I mean and be able to help! :sad2:

Thank you!
Leah

I don't know if it's worthwhile rescheduling your trip to be 6 months out, because there's no guarantee that prices will go up between those 2 months, and if it costs you to change your plans, you might end up being out of pocket more then what you would have by sticking to your original PS.

Prices probably wont go up until October, so unless for example your 6 months out is September, but you weren't planning your trip until November, then it probably wouldn't make much of a difference... :confused3

I understand your concern though, my DFTW is in March, so my 6 months is September... :rotfl:

Hi Bec - Thank for replying to my question.

My timeline is similar to yours. My DFTW is in Feb, so my 6 month mark is in August. My PS is currently scheduled for Oct 1, so if the rumored prices increase does go in effect in October, it seems that I will be subject to the new prices.

Depending on how large these increases will be, it could be worthwhile for us to change our plans and go down earlier - assuming that you do "lock in" your prices at the planning session.

Can anyone else explain when your prices were confirmed? Does that happen at your planning session or shortly after? :confused3

thanks!
Leah

I am interested to hear the answer to this as well. Their policies are confusing regarding pricing. :headache:

I think they're confirmed when you get your BEO, which is shortly after your PS.
