Question about potential free DDP

I was not part of the bounceback offer, but am planning to visit WDW in mid-September. It appears that as in years past free dining may be offered during this time frame. My question is about ADRs. I am wanting to make my ADRs at my 180-day point, which would be prior to knowing whether or not Disney will be offering free DDP. Anyways, let's say I make my resort reservation at Pop Century, and at the 180-day mark, begin making my ADRs. Then maybe a month later, free DDP is offered. So I go through the process of changing my trip to include the free DDP. Will I then lose all of my previously made ADRs? I was thinking these are tied to resort reservations, and wondering if switching to a free DDP package, voids my first reservation and all the ADRs that were tied to it.

TIA

You can tie reservations to your phone number at 180 days out, the plus 10 may be more of a challenge.

I have not heard of anyone losing their reservations, but to be sure you can just call and check on your ADR #'s as soon as you change over to free dining.

We did free dining last year...it was offered April 9th, I had Dreams book it because I had surgery that day...our trip was for 9/12-9/22, so under the 180 days as of booking, and I didn't book ADRs till a week or two later. I got everything I asked for, at the time I asked for...this included Ohana, Artist Point, Mama Melrose, Biergarten, Wolfgang Pucks, Le Cellier, Spoodles, and Morocco...no character meals because we don't care about those. When I called back in July to change the ADRs because my nephew was joining us we were still able to get everything except Le Celliar...at different times, but still reasonable dinner times...
We're still undecided about deluxe dining...if we go that route I will be booking 180 plus 10 for certain meals and times.

You should have no problem, because you don't have to be a WDW guest to get an ADR. If the restaurant is in a park, then you need admission to that park that day, but not when you make the ADR. They are open to the public. You can make ADR's regardless of your trip reservations. What do you think the locals do?

My concern is that I'd be booking at the 180 + 10 days which I think you can only do with a WDW resort reservation. We're looking to do several character meals, including Cinderella's Royal Table, and also trying to go to LeCellier, each for the first time. I'm hoping if I explain to the Cast Member what I'm planning to do, they'll allow me the 180+, but tie it to my phone number.
