Question about points!!!

As of now points cost $84 per point. Would you suggest buying now or hoping the price of points goes down. And what hotel would you say is the best to buy into. And when you pick the month to get ur points, do u have to spend ur points in that month...Thank You.

To date, points purchased from DVC have only gone up. They sometimes offer "deals" that bring the initial cost down such as MB.

The Use Year (month you get your points) has nothing to do with when you use them. Instead of giving everyone their points in January, they stagger the distribution. If your Use Year is April, you get your yearly allotment on April 1 and must use them by March 31 of the next year or bank them (according to the banking deadlines).

You make reservations based on the 11 month rule. At your home resort you can start making reservations 11 months from check-out. At the other resorts, it's 7 months from check-out.

The only time Use Year matters is if you have to cancel a reservation that is very late in your Use Year (like March if you have an April Use Year) and you don't cancel it in time to bank your points or use them for non-DVC options.
