Question about point inflation

I'm still amazed they haven't reallocated the points for early Dec to make them higher and reduce the point cost for some other less popular time. It's one of my favorite times to go. Good weather, low point cost and Christmas decorations :)
I'm sure DVC has considered this. Likely the reason they haven't made such a change is that it's quite a chore to reallocate, make all the changes and then have many people going over and over them to be sure they are correct. Likely the reason they waited almost 10 years more than what they should have for the recent reallocation is also related to the difficulty and the fact that ultimately (in a sense) it doesn't matter because members will use their points to reserve that is available. They'll likely wait until they have another reason to reallocate and roll this into it, if they have enough info to suggest it's truly needed that is.

i'm on that early dec train too. hope that they don't mess with these points...too if they go up, what will go down? that's an interesting question: what times are currently overvalued?

If points move around a little on you, you can use bank/borrow to get a few more points to take your "regular" trip. Over time, you'll drain the bank and have a year where you have no points, but that could take years. At that point, you may be ready for something different, or you can rent points and transfer them into you account, or, you could stay for cash and revisit a favorite CRO resort, or your "regular" trip may have changed anyway to adjust to kids ages or other things in your life.

I keep expecting boardwalk view rooms to be made higher than "water/garden" view, but someone pointed out that there aren't that many of them, so it might be hard to spread around the decrease. Plus it does seem like a huge bother to do.

Personally, I think early december is priced JUST right :thumbsup2
Don't listen to Doug, mickey.

If they change Dec, they'll likely make it Dream season and just spread the points out among the other choices so a point her and a point there which won't make much difference to the rest of the time. The other question is what are they going to do with weekends. They clearly overshot the change of weekend vs weekday so they may increase weekends later but not as much as before. My guess is they intentionally overshot to change the pattern of people doing just the 5 days S-F and will later move it back part way.

Making the change makes sense in a way because of higher demand but is an issue because it makes rebalancing even more difficult plus it requires another reallocation. Again, I'd think they'd roll it into the next change IF they do make a change.
