Hi I'm new here I've been to wdw before about five years ago and someone else did all the planning. I am thinking about taking the trip again in october for my 21st birthday I am just now looking into the resorts. There will most likely be four of us going I was wondering if it would be cheaper to just book the hotel and flights seporately? or any other advice you have for me regarding planning is welcome.

Hello! I am actually going to Disney for my 21st birthday this June! I travelled to Disney last year with my mom and did all of the planning and this year my boyfriend and I are travelling there together and I am planning everything for a second time. I booked my trip through Disney and purchased the flight separately in order to avoid a layover. I usually always travel on Southwest airlines and book off the website, just be sure to check their website frequently for the best rates available, you can often get a very good deal (usually about $89 each way). If you plan on using Disney's Magical Express and book your flight separately from your disney package you can add your flight information to your reservation.

Thank you! I hope you have a great trip

In your planning, these forums are worth their weight in gold! I personally absolutely love the Unofficial Guide to WDW. Their touring plans for the parks were awesome during Easter/Spring Break last year. Parks were packed and we never waited in line longer than 20 minutes!

I bought several guide books as I love to read about WDW, but it is my humble opinion the Unofficial Guide is the best.

Happy planning! For me it is 50% of the fun of the trip plus the fun lasts for a year ahead of time!

I would recommend Birnbaums Guide to Disney..it's a valuable guide and I use it regularly. Also, get a binder and as you are reading these boards, take notes and keep them in the binder. What I do is, after a few nights on here and a stack of notes, I look them over and sort them into sections in my binder, Ex: dining, parks, resorts, air transportation ect. Let me add, that the Magical Express transportation is great!!! I will never rent a car again...And as always, don't be afraid to ask any and all questions..that's what we are here for:) Enjoy the planning and most of all, Have a great time at the Most Happiest Place on Earth:)
