Does anyone remember how much these pins cost if purchased on the ship?

I'm browsing ebay and seeing some cute pins and thinking maybe of bidding on some for my kids to stick on their luggage, etc., before we go, but wondering what the typical price is and how much to bid!

Thank you -
Kris

The pins can cost anywhere from 8.50 up to 16.00 (I think that is the highest they went). There are some exclusive to DCL and are released on your sailing, you can use them to trade with CM's (or others) for other ones. So if you get a large lot off ebay, you can use those to trade with others if they have something you like. The CM's do this with a smile. Get a lanyard to carry them around with you.

There were some that were also $6.50. I don't think I paid more than that for a pin except the special 4th of July pin. There was a limit of 3 per person on those, but I only got one--then when I got home I saw a bunch on EBay--guess that's what the limits are for!

There were quite a lot of pins for $6.50...I'd guess at least half of the ones available on board. Before we went, we got from eBay and the Disney store site 32 pins (two lots of 10, and 3 sets of 4) to split among 3 kids, and I think that even with the s/h they were about $3.00 each. It didn't matter in the slightest what they looked like, as long as they had the Disney copyright on the back, as the point was to trade them away.

Do *ahem* Adults ever trade pins? I have only a few that I love, but it might be fun to try trading.

yup!

I love pin trading course I only do it with ones I buy not ones I love :)

Adults have free reign as kids except they do have kids only lanyards that you cant trade with unless you have a kid with ya.

The "kids only" lanyards are worn by CMs and are green.

zeke11,

I just wanted to pop in and say I saw something in your original post that worried me alittle. You mentioned letting the children put these pins on their luggage and I would like to suggest that you DON"T let them put them on their luggage. It's too easy to have the pins fall off or to be stolen. May I suggest you invest in lanyards for the kids? That way they can show off their pins and others intrested in trading can see what they've got.

Can you tell me, do they have to be Disney pins to be traded? Can they be other pins?

Just wondering!

Any pin you trade must be a Disney pin in order to trade with a cast member.

Yes, adults most definitely DO trade!

I had a TON of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Play It!" pins that I won at DCA over the last couple of years (along with two cruises and two leather jackets!...the second cruise is in just 2 weeks!), and someone suggested I start trading them inside DCA and Disneyland. Now I have 5 or 6 lanyards full of pins, plus a few I bought last year on my Wonder-ful cruise. Most are nothing special, but to a Disneyphile like myself they're lots of fun to get and trade.

I've won some auctions on e-bay, but wondering where I can buy some lanyards before we go.
