Question about pictures

How come when some women get their pictures taken they throw their shoulders back and thrust the ****s out. I've never understood that. It's not a sexy look, it just looks dumb and self-absorbed. (IMHO of course). Is there a real reason for it?

Guess it's my pet peeve of the day.
