Question about Photopass+

I just ordered our photopass+ for our trip to DL next month (eek!) and my aunt who is also going to DL at the same time (but we aren't going together in the parks) is wondering if it possible for us to 'share' the photopass (and then share the cost)?

I've never used the photopass+ before so please correct me if I have some of the info incorrect. For them, could they get and use one of the credit card type passes that the photographers use and will hand out and then link the card to our account. Then at the end of the trip ours and their photos would all be on the one account and then we could get the disk printed with both of our photos on it.

Would that work or is there something I'm unaware of (or will it work but doing it a different way)?

Yes that will work for the regular photopass photos. Your Aunt will not be able to get the ride photos and character meal added unless she has the PP+ card with her. She could jot down the ride photo #'s and you can go back and add them later.

Thanks.

How many cards do you get with the PP+? And if it's only 2 can we get an extra card when we arrive (so then every adult has their own)?

You actually only get one card. So it takes a little juggling to make sure you have all character meal/ride photos if you split up. It's worth the hassle, though, IMO.

Thanks.

One PP+ voucher = One PP+ card for photo use in the parks and at character meals.

The PP+ card has a code that links ride photos and photos taken by Disney photographers to the card.

I'm not sure if it still works... but we did PP+ a couple years ago and I had the card and DH had a picture of the card on his phone and CMs were able to use that to get his ride photos added to our acct. Having that picture also came in handy later on when I didn't notice one of the photographers kept our card and we needed to get a new one!

Ahhh... for some reason I thought that there were two cards in case your party split up for part of the day you would each still have one.

Thanks for the info and help. :goodvibes

I think the only trouble you'd run into is character meals, but you could always pay for the photo in advance and keep the receipt and then add the photo onto your card at the photo shop and get reimbursed. For ride photos, your aunt can text you the photo number from the ride and then later in the day you can stop by that ride and add her photo. Whenever they get photopass pictures taken, then can just get the regular cards and give them to you at the end of the trip so that you can add them onto your account. But one thing I've noticed with PP+ is that the photographers give you extra treatment compared to the regular photos. Once you had them the card, they will take a ton of pics because they know that it isn't an additional cost to you. We have ended up with some nice candid shots of the kids from the PP photographers. So, your aunt may not end up with as many pictures as you will since you'll have the actual PP+.

Nah, can't use a picture anymore. That must've been when it first came out.

Gotta be the physical card.

Thanks for the info. I've passed it on to her and let her know that there is only one card (and since I've ordered it we're keeping it with us). So it's up to her to decide if she wants to take the risk of not having everything on the card that she wants or else she can choose to just pre-order her own. So the option of what she wants to do, and is comfortable doing, is up to her.

And Rubygoose, no cell phones on the trip. I'm not going through the hassle (or expense) of getting DH's cellphone to work in the States for 6 days. That's one easy place to save money on the trip-and I don't want my aunt trying to (and being able to-find us and trying to meet up with us as we are not spending our vacation with them. :)

If you are not planning on meeting up with your Aunt and are not carrying a cell phone so she can text you the number of the ride photos for you to go to the ride and get added to your PP+, get a refund on the character meal photos and have them added to your account in the parks, it seems to me the best way to do this is for each to get your own PP+ account. But that is just my opinion.

Is DLR really that much different than WDW? I know we did PP+ at WDW and you get the one PP+ card but the kids and other people in your party can just get regular PP cards and you link them to your main PP+ account and all their regular pics will show up. They exception is ride photos. They have to write the number down and the person with the PP+ card has to visit the ride photo counter and have the ride photos added.
