I'm signed up for the photo pass for our upcoming trip. I read something about getting a card/paper with your photo pass ID on it, when you have your first photo made.

What is it, a plastic card, slip of paper, or what? And...any tips for carrying it, so it's easily accessible, but not prone to loss?

The Photopass Card you will get from the photographer when you ask for a picture.
It is thin plastic has a specific number on it.. hand that to the photographer each time they take your picture. You can then enter that number into the Photopass site and see your photos either at the end of your vacation or every day from your computer if you brought it.

The waterparks have a Small card that has a plastic wrist band on it.. good at any park.. but that clip "Can" slip. not likely to happen.. but it could.

BTW.. you can use that same card year after year... and once you have established your Photopass account with your e-mail.. your pictures will pop up automatically. NO MORE ENTERING Photopass codes.

Yes you can have as many cards on the account as you wish.

We usually put ours in a plastic pouch and attach it to our Pin Lanyard.. or the front of a fanny pack

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like it is similar in size to a credit card, right? I guess I can just keep it with our tickets, and hopefully I won't lose it.

As soon as you get it, take a picture of the number on the card with your camera or cell phone (I believe the number is on the back). This way, if you should lose it, you can still access all your pictures because you'll have the number.

Excellent idea! I will definitely do that.

except for the ones at the water parks.. it is pretty much the size of a credit card:thumbsup2

Definitely make sure you note the # somewhere in case you lose it. DH lost ours the last trip during a big rainstorm. They were able to find our photos though!

We usually end up with 4-5 Photopass cards each trip. We're not always all together, and still get photos taken, or a card gets left behind one day, or something. We also usually get another card half-way through the trip just to be sure we have access to at least some photos. Definitely write the numbers down on something that will go home with you, but not be carried around the parks and subject to getting lost. Fortunately, multiple cards can be grouped together on the website to put on the CD.

am i correct in understanding that i'll have to get one of these cards and choose which photo to receive a 5x7 print of when i get home? (i get a free photopass certificate for a 5x7 as part of the package we booked)

Also, when you get pictures from CRT or Akershaus -or- purchase pictures at places like Hoop Dee Doo or Chef Mickeys...you can add those to your PhotoPass account too. There is a number on the receipt and on the edge of the photos. We would just take our receipt into one of the PhotoPass stores and have them add it to our card so they were all on one. I assume you could manually enter each one on the website when you get home as well. We did the CD so I wanted all the pictures we could get on there since you get a copyright release.

One more tip...have your PhotoPass card ready at the end of Test Track it is the one ride photo you can add to it without having to buy anything! You only have about a minute at the end of the ride to scan your card though!

They will give you a photopass card when you go up to one of the photographers to have your picture taken.

However, you must get the free 5x7 at the parks during your stay. You can just stop by any of the photo centers. They will let you see the pictures, pick the one you want, add borders, and print it out for you. We just got a nice picture of our family in front of the castle. You can then use the card number to look at your pictures and order any additional ones when you get home.

UNless Something has changed... You can WAIT to get your free 5x7 at home.

I have never picked up my photos ( freebees or otherwise) at the park from my photopass.
I spend so much time playing with them online and creating several different pictures from 1 photo. Last Time I only had 120 Photopass pictures.. but I came away with 376 on my Photopass CD:rotfl:

If memory serves... there is a place for a "Promotion code" that you enter on the last page that will deduct the Free 5x7 from your order. However IF that is going to be the ONLY picture you get .. then you might as well pick it up before you leave Disney.

The last two years I have "pre purchased the Photopass cd" and just printed the pictures that I wanted from my computer. I did not have a MYW package since I was a AP holder.

Is there a limit to the number of photos you can have for the CD if you pre pay? and what about photopass sharing?? we are going with another family and would love to share the expence...??? :cool1:

No limit. They will span your pics across multiple CDs at no extra charge.

Sharing with the rest of your party is a great idea. Everyone can have their own PhotoPass cards, in case you split up (you can enter as many cards into an account as you want). But make sure that everybody knows ahead of time - a PhotoPass card can only be entered into ONE account. And only ONE account can be on a CD. So make sure that ALL of your PhotoPass cards go into the same account. If Uncle Phil puts his card into his own account, then Uncle Phils pics will NOT be on your CD when you order it.
