Question about paying with MagicBand

I have a question about paying with a magicband that hopefully someone has experience with. This is our family's second trip to WDW and first trip with both the magicbands and dining plan.

When looking at menus online, I notice some items that count as snack credits are very cheap. I would like to pay for these out of pocket to get the best value out of our dining plan. If I pay using the magicband, is there a way to charge to the room or will it automatically use a snack credit for all items that are eligible?

We have completed online check-in and have a credit card linked. We arrive this Saturday the 23rd.

You Can elect to have it charged to your room or use snack credits. Your choice. We always choose to use snack credits though because my family just can't seem to share four snacks a day every day. We always have a few snack credits left over.

when paying just let the cashier know that you are NOT using a snack credit but instead are charging it to your room.
thats all you should have to do.
of course i'd look at your receipt after just to be sure that thats what was done.
