Question about paying for meals

Hello lovely Dis'ers! I had a question about the restaurants that make you put down a credit card #.

Once you get to your reservation, do you have to pay with the credit card you used to reserve the time? Or can you pay with a Disney gift card/other method?

I'm going to Disney in Sept. and wanted to ask. We have the free dining offer, but we're eating at the Polynesian Luau out-of-pocket so as to not used 2 credits and be able to have prime seating, and I wanted to make sure we could reserve it with a credit card but pay another way.

When I went with friends, they were all booked with one person's CC. However, when we paid, we split it up, and I used my Disney Rewards Card for my portion.

You can pay for it any way you want - cash, gift cards, CC (same or different as the one used for the reservation), even split the bill up between mediums. Enjoy the luau!

The only meals actually charged in advance are CRT and the dinner shows or special events. All others it is only a guarantee and charged if you do not show up or cancel more than 24 hours out.

Once you get to your reservation, do you have to pay with the credit card you used to reserve the time? Or can you pay with a Disney gift card/other method? For reservations that require a CC guarantee, they will only charge the card if you don't cancel the res within the specified timeframe and then fail to show up at the restaurant. For these restaurants (mainly character meals/restaurant and signatures) you can pay with something else once you're at the restaurant.

The luau is a dinner show and you will have to pay in full at the time you make the reservation if you're not using your dining credits. You could change the payment method at the time you pick up the tickets (people sometime decide to use or not use dining plan credits at that time.)

Thank you Purple Figment! That helps a lot! We'll just plan on booking the Luau with a cc or gift card if they will let us and not worry about it.
