We just purchased 225 points 02-07-08. My Mom (who is 67) thinks she would like ~50 points. Part of her reasoning is that we are going on a cruise01-2010 and she would like to use points to pay for that (I know some don't like using points to buy cruises). She also would like to be able to get her own room when we go to WDW (she plans on going with us for the next several years, hopefully). We own at AKV and we are going to start looking at buying.
Should she buy her own points in her own name through Timeshare Store since Disney will not do an initial contract less than 160 points?
Should she buy 50 points from Disney under our name as an add-on?
What resort? She loves Epcot, but my DH was thinking that just 50 at Boardwalk or Beach Club would be hard and she might not ever get the dates she wants.
ALSO, for the cruise, the only way you can pay for points is if the price of the cruise (pointswise) is less than the total of the points you have available (3 years worth if you are banking and borrowing). (Meaning you can have a cruise that costs 170 points and only have 150 points to pay with and pay difference in cash). Do people rent 10-30 points?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks
