Please educate me on the outlets in the bathrooms....I know they're not standard U.S. outlets, but will converters work in them? We do want to bring a blow dryer, because we heard that the ones on the ship suck. Or blow, depending on your choice of slang for "is icky."

If the converters don't work, how long does the extension cord have to be to reach the plug at the vanity? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got off the Magic and I have 2 DD's 13 and 11. They actually liked the hair dryer. There was an outlet by the table rear our verandah (cat. 6) that I KNOW they used for a curling iron. Wouldn't a hair dryer work there?? I know the outlet in the shower room said "electric shavers only!"

What?? The plugs aren't standard US outlets? What's the point of having them then... can't plug stuff in? (thinking electric shavers, curling irons- heck even my battery recharger LOL)

The outlets ARE standard US outlets. Everything I've ever plugged in has worked fine. This has included an alarm clock, curling iron, my own hair dryer (their dryers are weird!), charger for cell phone...not sure what else over the years.....

There are no outlets in the bathrooms for plugging anything in, except for an electric shaver. If you need to plug anything in, you need to use the outlets near the desk. Bring an extention cord anyway, because these outlets are located VERY close to the desk and your standard hairdryer plug won't fit since they are usually very large. If you wish to dry your hair in the bathroom and not at the outside mirror (where the plugs are) you'll need approx 20 ft or so to get you to the bathroom comfortably. All outlets are standard US outlets.

Just the info I needed...thanks for clearing up my confusion about the bathroom outlet. I was under the impression it wasn't standard US, didn't realize it was just for shavers.

Thanks for your help!

Brenda

Thanks for the info... I never would have imagined that I wouldn't be able to use electrical devices in the bathroom! Definitely taking an extension cord.....
Do the rooms have alarm clocks like it is standard in resort rooms? or not? I remember someone saying they overslept without any light from a porthole or verandah (had neither). Does this mean there are no wake up calls NOR an alarm clock? Need to know so I can bring one if not! LOL

Ok - I am laughing at myself - I got a little excited when I saw this post about outlets and thought "Hey someone is thinking about shopping" We love to go to the Orlando Premium Outlet while we are at WDW...One of the guys even wants to skip the world some year and just shop! Imagine that! Sorry, but us girls still love the world! (believe it or not)

Thanks for making my night!
