Has anyone flew from here? I know that Magic Express runs for International. How much on average is a taxi fare to one of the Disney resorts from Orlando/Sanford? Thanks

Jenny

We flew Allegiant Air into Sanford and rented a car. The car rental in on-site and the cars are right across from the terminal. It was cheaper than flying into orlando since we got a great deal on the flight. The airport was nice and small, unlike MCO. MCO is nice, but it is so crowded and security can sometimes take awhile.

If we were flying out of MCO, we would have had to leave earlier for the airport to get through security than we needed to leave to travel to Sanford, return the car and get checked in for our flight.

I think we drove about 40 minutes to get to the hotel. I think it was raining and that took us a little longer, although it was around 8pm, so traffic was not an issue.

We've flown into Sanford six of the last eight years. We like it much better than MCO. Rental cars are much easier as is security and baggage claim. We take 417 right to WDW. It's a toll road and costs about $6 but there's much less traffic and you only slow down to pay the tolls.

We love flying into Sanford. We use Tiffany Town Car. It does cost about $200, but we fly pretty cheap, non-stop, from Iowa so it is worth it to me. We also get to make a grocery stop for water, Diet Mt. Dew, etc.
