Question about old park tickets

I have old 4-day and 7-day tickets. I know that at least one of them has a day left on it. How can I tell (before actually going to a park and handing them tickets until one works LOL) which one is still good? Is there any way to tell, or should I just bring them all to Florida with me?

Also, do I have to turn it in and get a new ticket, since they've got a new ticket system now? Where would I do that?

Just bring them with you to WDW. They can tell at the resorts or guest relations. No way to find out ahead of time.

What safetymom said :)

Just wanted to add that you don't have to trade them in. The new ticketing will not affect previously purchased tickets. They will still be honored for any unused days.

It is almost always better to use old tickets as-is rather than trade them up.

It is possible that the exchange rate for trading up to the newest kind of tickets (Magic Your Way) could be improved as an incentive for guests to get rid of old tickets because a record of every magnetic stripe ticket ever sold has to be kept in the computer system until that ticket is used up or turned in.

You can inquire at the ticket booth what the trade up value of an old ticket is and then decide not or whether to do a trade-up.

Even if a ticket is rejected at the turnstile, feel free to go to a ticket booth later to find out what's left. There may be plusses left, and these have no trade up value.

When I bought my hoppers last spring at the Disney Store, the CM told me to hold on to the receipt, since the number on the receipt was the key to finding out what you have left without going into the park. I not only held on to them for dear life, but made copies as well! It's also a good idea to hold on to the receipt b/c if you should lose your ticket, having it is the only way you can get a new ticket reissued without buying a new one. Good luck...

The number code to find out how many days are left on the ticket is actually on the ticket itself :)

But yes it is a good idea to keep the receipt in case you lose a ticket they can trace it back :)

I always tell guests to hold onto the receipt and make a copy of the backs of all tickets. Also assign each ticket to a particular person and write the name of the person on the copies of the tickets, so if Johnny looses his ticket in Fastpass, you know which ticket got lost making it easier and less time consuming when you go to have the ticket replaced.
