Question about OKW & trundle beds

I am wanting to use my points for a trip next May including myself, my DH's brother, his wife, and child (will be 5).

I don't have enough points for a one bedroom or for two studios, so I was thinking that a studio at OKW might be the best choice. That would give me a bed and the other two adults a bed. The only problem is deciding where my nephew will sleep. Does OKW have trundle beds? If not, do any of the DVC resorts have them or even allow them?

Thanks!

OKW will not provide extra beds or bedding. Many buy or bring a blow up mattress. With the current renovation I know that all the 1 and 2 bedroom and GV are getting the new sleeper chair, not sure about studios.

Many people in this position bring an air mattress or aerobed. The only property that I know of with trundle beds is Port Orleans Riverside, and that's only in the Alligator Bayou buildings.

Good to know, thank you! I will talk to them about bringing an air matress. :)

None of the studios have the sleeper chair. That is only in some of the one and two bedroom villas.

A studio at OKW only has 2 beds in the room. I think it would be crowded with an air mattress.

Not to mention, the occupancy of an OKW studio is 4 plus one child UNDER 3. You would need to get either a 1 bedroom, 2 studios or a 2 bedroom.

Sounds like the OP will have only 3 adults and 1 child in the room. So no issue with occupancy. She just needs a bed/air mattress for her nephew.

we were able to fit an air mattress in OKW studio when kids were little......

Could you perhaps borrow some points from your next UY? Or possibly do the 1 time point buy from DVC to "top off" your ressie for a 1 or 2 bedroom?

Another thought is your BIL sleeps with your nephew and your SIL sleeps with you. Or your nephew sleeps with you.

OOPS! I missed that part. I thought it was 3 couples and 1 child. Yep, I'd bring an air bed.

I can see the recently refurbed 1 and 2 BR being the only ones with the sleeper chair at present, are you saying that only select 1 and 2 BR will have the sleeper chair after the refurb?

All one/two bedroom units at OKW will have the sleeper chair after the refurb is completed.

No, BWV, BCV and VWL will not have the sleeper chair (also none at AKV Value villas).

We were able to easily fit an air mattress at POPCentury which I believe is even smaller. We would stand it up against the wall in the day and lay it down next to the TV stand at night and still have room to walk around it. The kids (one boy and one girl) were 12 and 16 no way were they going to sleep together and DS is a kicker.
