Question about OKW check-in/check-out

We're staying at OKW for the first time in a few days and would like to know about the check-in/check-out process. After Magical Express drops us off at HH and we check in, are we expected to walk to our hotel room or will a golf cart take us like at the Grand Floridian? When we check out, are we expected to pull our luggage to HH, or do we call bell services and arrange for them to pick it up? Thanks!

At check-in you will either be able to walk to your room or take the internal bus. Sometimes, depending on how busy they are, bell services will take you to your room (tip expected). At check-out - you call ahead and arrange with bell service when you would like your luggage picked up - if you like you can ride back with the luggage on the golf cart to HH and the ME!

Yes, bell services will take you, but we have noticed that when an ME bus comes in, bell services gets overwhelmed, and often can't offer to take you to your room. As previously mentioned, you can take the internal bus if you wish. We usually rent a car, so we usually go park at our assigned building (even if we haven't officially gotten our room number yet), and then we head for the parks or grocery shopping.

We've driven to our room and walked. If they aren't too busy, I'm sure BS would
take you in a golf cart. The other poster is right, there is an "internal" bus as
well. This place is spacious. I wouldn't want to haul my luggage to Turtle Pond
from HH.

If you are arriving on ME - your luggage will arrive later and be delivered to your room. It usually takes anywhere from 4-5 hours after your arrive for your luggage to come. Good advice if your luggage is being handeled by ME, to carry with you any items you might want - i.e. swim suits, park clothes, or whatever!

And if you're flying back home on a participating airline and can check your bags ahead of time, plan for enough time to do that.

Bell Services can get very, very busy in the AM, and we've found that sometimes when we call for luggage assistance we're told it will be over an hour.

We would NEVER do that again. We always fly on Northwest, and the one time we checked our luggage at the hotel (we stayed at AKL) before departing to the airport, our luggage didn't even make it on the plane! ME picked us up 3 hours ahead of our flight as usual, so I don't know why our luggage wasn't delivered to the airport on time. But thanks for the advice about calling bell services early. We will certainly remember to call early if we need assistance.
